### Reviews

**★★★★★ — Christopher Mangone, Oct. 2025**

> Greg and Bryan did an amazing job designing and building our deck and basement. They were collaborative in designing both projects, listening to our feedback and providing modifications that met our needs. Once aligned, they executed the build flawlessly, keeping us informed throughout the project. In the end, they delivered a deck we will have for many, many years and a basement our kids will play in for throughout their childhood. I highly recommend working them!

**Comment from GN Builders L.L.C:**

> Thank you for the kind words Chris! It was a pleasure working with you and for you.

**★★★★★ — Marinet Jacob, May 2023**

> Greg is an excellent designer. Very knowledgeable about kitchen design. Designed in 1 day 2 different layout options for our kitchen remodel. He discussed in detail the pros and Cons of both. Explained very thoroughly through a 3 D model all the cabinet sizes. He even applied life size people walking around the model to visualize it all. Never makes you feel rushed or annoyed no matter how many changes he makes. Highly recommend Greg for every home renovation project.

> Greg is very knowledgeable and his expert advice is always helpful. The kitchen design Greg created was excellent and we are very happy with the layout and the presentation. He is very accommodating and has lot of patience to listen to our ideas, changes and questions. We are happy we worked with Greg. Keep up the good work Greg...

**Comment from GN Builders L.L.C:**

> Thanks for the kind words, Prashant, was a pleasure working with you and for you, and I hope you and your family will enjoy your beautiful kitchen for many years to come!

> Greg did a wonderful job designing our home addition. He was responsive to our feedback and made adjustments as needed. Would definitely recommend his services to anyone requiring 3D design work.

**★★★★★ — YauYee Chen, Nov. 2021**

> Greg has everything you'd want in a contractor. He is knowledgeable and reliable, he will call back when he says he will and show up when he promises unlike many other contractors who never call back or show up when they are supposed to. I reached out to Greg with concerns over a problem with my front porch and he replied to my message within a day! Although he doesn't provide services in my area, he agreed to come for an on-site evaluation. He showed up on time and afterwards sent me great 3D graphics pointing out the specific problems and how to address them so that I can have a local contractor do the work needed and not get scammed. Greg is a great contractor, dependable and with excellent customer service. I would have hired him to do the repairs in my front porch without a doubt, but it is so unfortunate that I am outside of his service area.

**★★★★★ — lorik00, Dec. 2020**

> Wow, Greg offers a great service at a very reasonable price. I provided him a crazy hand drawing of a house and he turned it into a a real house design. Then we spent time in a virtual session where we changed even more things. Shortly after that he gave me all the plans in PDF form. I would highly recommend his service. I had been experiencing a lot of frustration with trying to design it myself via app. He made it fun!

**★★★★★ — Elena Sanders, Nov. 2020**

> Greg was amazing with our basement improvement project! He went over the measurements and created a plan of our basement with all the details added, so we could see the design in 3D. We were able to see different options for the floor, walls, and ceiling, as well as other things we were adding. He is very professional, helpful, and patient, and I highly recommend working with him!

**★★★★★ — Denise D, Sept. 2020**

> Greg is wonderful! We just bought a home and were unsure what to do with the floorplan. He came up with two great design choices and listened to everything we said and added them to the floorplans. We can't recommend hm enough. Thank you so much Greg!

**★★★★★ — Shola Akins, April 2020**

> Greg was the consummate professional. He drew up 3D renderings for my new custom home and pretty much brought it to life. He was very friendly, patient and knowledgable. He also gave us some great ideas that we gave to our builder.

**★★★★★ — M P, March 2020**

> Greg rebuilt a linen closet for us, creating a new wall. He was very professional, personable and did excellent work. He responded quickly and worked very efficiently. He went out of his way to do the job correctly even if it involved something I didn't know to ask for. It felt that he worked with the same sense of responsibility and care as if it was his own house. Highly recommended.

**★★★★★ — G Singh, June 2019**

> Greg is probably the best contractors who will combine his immense knowledge in construction, materials, local township bureaucracy in making economical, aesthetic designs and follow it up with great finished product. His 'one customer at a time' approach guarantees project completions on time.

**★★★★★ — Rivka Greenberg, Dec. 2018**

> Greg was a real pleasure to work with. He rebuilt our porch, which was unsafe and falling apart. He was helpful from when we first called him, created a graphic layout of the project, was detailed, diligent and thorough. The fact that he's friendly and a nice person was a major bonus. Even other contractors working for us doing different tasks liked Greg and commented how he was focused and detailed oriented plus he enjoys his work! He did top quality work and worked on creating a reasonable budget and timeline. He's a great craftsman and takes pride in his work. We highly recommend him.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Composite decking and patio paver colours - need help selecting** *(in Landscape Design)*

We are redoing our back deck (elevated). It's not too large, only 16'x11' and will have a black metal railing. We also have a lower patio area that we are going to be using paving stones. We have to decide on colours and are not sure the best way to go. The siding of the house is lighter cream/mocha (with a peach-ish undertone). The bricks on the front of the house were also painted dark charcoal grey). My first thought was to go with a darker wood (cocoa) for the composite to support the 'warmer' siding colour but I'm not sure what to do for the neighboring pavers. Or should we stick with grey composite? We also will have a firepit area just off the patio area with a washed rock (multi colours) covering. I'm looking for suggestions (with photos if possible) to help me visualize the the possible end result. Attached are the colours we are working with. Thank you!

A: You shouldn't attach the deck to a cantilever; it's not code-compliant.

**Q: What renovations would make this house ideal for us to live in?** *(in Buying and Selling Homes)*

We’re considering purchasing this 2000-era golf-course home, and it needs a major renovation. The lot is beautiful—about 14,000 sq. ft. on the golf course—which is one of the things we absolutely love about the property.
Our goal is to create a much more functional layout that better fits the way we live, while updating the finishes and overall style. One of my priorities is opening the kitchen up to the more formal living space and creating a large island that can serve as the heart of the home. We’re also considering closing off the existing dining room and reworking that space into a combination of a small study and a large butler’s pantry.
We’re open to moving or removing walls and completely rethinking spaces if it will improve the flow and functionality.
I’d especially love feedback on the floor plan itself. What walls or rooms would you change? Are there any spaces you would combine, enlarge, or rethink? Are there areas of the floor plan you think we should address before we start the renovation? We’d love to hear ideas from others who have taken on a major renovation of a similar 2000-era home!

A: Your best bet is to contact a local architect and specify your needs and goals, and work from there. Good luck.

**Q: Help me find a waterproof shower curtain?** *(in Bathrooms)*

I have two teenage boys and they pee standing, it gets on the shower curtain and ruins it.
Any advice on what shower curtain is appropriate for a boy’s bathroom? I need something that’s machine washable or waterproof.

A: If you can't teach them to pee in the toilet, teach them to pee sitting down so they don't mess up your curtain.

**Q: Sealed or not sealed concrete flooring?** *(in Building a Home)*

Hi everyone. need advice from concrete flooring professionals, please! our new home build stated ” sealed finish floors clear”. Towards end of build, contractor offered to stain floors stating it would look better. after staining, he calls and says stain wont adhere. left a patchy, puddled mess. he stripped floors, sealed them clear. did final walk thru. floors looked worse than a dirty garage floor ( we didnt say this to him). he re stripped floors again. looked slightly better. we were on a closing time crunch and just gave up. now, im trying to clean the floor and unsure if its sealed properly. pics of me adding water to floor. second pic is waiting 30 seconds. Third pic is mopping it up with towel. is this how it should be? any advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you!

A: If you want to reapply the stain, you have to remove the sealer... can be done 2 ways:
One is to sand the sealer off or grind it off (but that could damage the surface, not to mention lots of dust if proper equipment is not used, such as dust shrouds, etc.)
Method 2 uses chemicals, and I'm talking about some harsh solutions.

**Q: replaced their Anderson patio door levers with a knob from 3rd party** *(in Other)*

Has anyone ever replaced their Anderson patio door levers with a knob from a 3rd party manufacturer? If so who?

A: Why don't you want to replace them with Anderson levers?

**Q: UK Faucet in Canada** *(in Appliances)*

I am in love with this polished nickel faucet from Lusso however I am in Canada and it is made in the UK. I am concerned I will have issues getting it connected here. Has anyone in Canada (maybe the US too, I think we have the same standard connections) installed a faucet from the UK or another country and how difficult/expensive was it to get installed? Pic because it's pretty.

A: I doubt it, as far as I know, in the UK they use British Standard fittings, and in Canada they use National Thread fittings... That said, you can reach out to the faucet manufacturer or local plumbing supply and ask them.
Good luck
