A: The lights that are pictured will be custom 12V DC outdoor weather resistant flex strips. These are surface mounted strips that can be customized in lengths in 4" increments up to 300". These panels are manufactured on a rigid PC board, which prevents any customization. Alternatively, we offer Ultra Bright Flexible LED Strips. These strips have the exact same LED diode, color temperatures, and spacing between the LEDs; however, rather than soldered to a PC board we solder it to a flexible tape. This enables us to cut the strips to length for you. Since these products are custom we do not have a kit available. All items need to be purchased individually on our website. How do I measure for my kitchen?** *(in Product Questions)* A: Brittany, Thank you for contacting us in regards to our Hardwire Kitchen Kit. The Pro Series Panels are 8.75" in length. Our customer's generally install the panels in one of two ways: 1\. Task Lighting - Always allow for 1.5" on either side of the panel for the plug-in connectors of the interconnect cable. Once you have factored in those connections, you can install the panels as close together as possible. This will create about a 3" gap in-between each panel. Having the panels in close proximity will increase the light output and create the perfect task light. 2\. Accent Lighting - Center a panel underneath each cabinet door. This will create a greater space in-between each panel but will offer a nice ambient glow underneath your cabinets. At the end of the day, there is no wrong way to install these! You can space them as close together or as far apart as you would like, depending on your lighting needs. Before permanently installing we recommend using painters tape or scotch tape to temporarily hold the lights in their intended location. Simply supply power to the panel, take a step back, and determine if you like the final placement. Lastly, if you would like to make cable length changes you are more than welcome to at no additional charge. The kit comes with (1) 12ft cable and (10) 3ft cables. You are more than welcome to swap these for any of the following standard cable lengths: 4", 1ft, 2ft, 3ft, 4ft, 6ft, and 12ft. Make sure to email a Houzz representative or contact us directly as soon as your order is placed in order to make these cable change requests. Can we order white wiring instead? A: Nic, Unfortunately, we do not offer alternative colors for the wiring. However, you are more than welcome to paint the wires to match the color of your cabinets or black-splash. Many of customers choose to camouflage their wires by doing this. We recommend using painters tape over the silver barrel that plugs into the LEDs. Other than that you can paint the black housing any color that matches your kitchen! So how Long, Wide and THICK are the Light Panels themselves? Again, Can you purchase separate power supplies and switches? Wish to operate banks of lights separately from each other. The Product Specifications list the size/weight of the entire kit (when it is fully packaged in a box). This size and weight includes the cables and power supplies as well, which is why it is so wide and heavy.
