**Q: Need new flooring in my master bedroom. Hardwood or carpet?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

The living areas in my house are light maple.  Need new flooring in my master bedroom which currently is carpeted and adjacent to the maple flooring,  What would be a good choice of hardwood flooring (either hardwood or laminate).  My house is a Frank Lloyd Wright modified style home.

A: Look for Unique Carpets website (http://www.uniquecarpetsltd.com/collections/tufted-wool) for some examples of wool carpets. Or the bigger manufactures such as Stainmaster carpet (https://www.stainmaster.com), and Shaw (https://shawfloors.com/flooring/carpet). They have a few lines that look like sisal/seagrass as well.

**Q: Grout Color White v Platinum** *(in Design Dilemma)*

deciding on grout color for backsplash. .leaning toward white since cabinets are white walls are BenMoore 1548 classic grey

A: Both grout being very light will not make much of a difference. I'd go with the grey for easier maintenance.

**Q: Need desperate help for rec room TV placement** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We recently bought our first house which has a rec room in the basement and are putting together a project plan including removing popcorn, new carpet, and possible built-ins on the far wall.
Here's our issue: We want to use this space for our TV room and keep the TV out of our more formal living areas upstairs. However, we have NO idea where to put the TV! We don't want to mount it over the fireplace, but the room is so narrow, I'm afraid the TV will dominate the far small wall. Any ideas!?!? If so, thank you so much in advance!  
I've included the picture from the listing so please note this is NOT our furniture! The pieces missing from the photo for more context:   
\- To the right of where the photographer is standing is a long sliding glass door
\- To the left of where the photographer is standing is the entry into the room from the basement stairs.

A: I am usually against TV over fireplaces in living rooms and family area, I think TVs should have their designated place. However, in this case in order to not have conflicting focal points I would opt to have it above fireplace.

**Q: The to much oak house!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I moved across the country three months ago into a house that is oak overload! I knew coming in to the home I would have to paint the walls, but the over abundance of oak colored wood is starting to get to me. The wall/door/window trim, doors, cabinets, floors, staircase banister, and fireplace mantle are all the same color of medium brown oak. I can't replace everything, and don't have an interest in painting it all, so I need to know how to use wall color and decor that complements all the wood.

A: If the wood overwhelm you no wall color will help un-overwhelm you.
I'd consider painting all the wood and keep it fresh.
Let your floor be the feature, not the "door/window trim, doors, cabinets, floors, staircase banister, and fireplace mantle"...enough is enough.
