## Community Q&A

**Q: Is there a "standard" height for a bar?  We are considering a single level bar at 40 inches high and around 30 inches deep.  That means the sink would be on the same level (as opposed to a two-tiered bar).  It would give us more surface area and not infringe on the room too much.  Any thoughts?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

A: 40 inches is pretty much standard for most raised bar tops. Not sure you want to have the sink that high though. Being 30 inches deep you could have more options.
 Use a vanity depth cabinet (21 inches). You could then hang the counter over the back 9 inches. 
 Add a raised bar to the counter with poles leaving more space under it.
