It's gorgeous.** *(in Photo Questions)* A: Hello, The backsplash tiles are both made by Walker Zanger tile which is available at Travis Tile in Austin or any large tile showroom if you aren't in town. **Q: window treatment-** *(in Design Dilemma)* Is it okay to mix roman shades classic flat w/valance shown in the dining room window, also sliding door with pure white roller shades in the 4 kitchen windows on the right? It's a open floor area so living room will have same roman shades as dining area. A: Would they both be white? If so, I think it could be weird to have non-matched styles in the same sort of material or color. The area in your dining room might be fun with a patterned shade instead of a solid roman. I see that most everything you have is creamy and neutral so perhaps a roman might be a nice place for a pop of color. Even something as simple as the shade below would differentiate these from your kitchen shades. Best of luck!!! **Q: How's my styling?** *(in Design Dilemma)* Trying to style (huge) RH coffee table. How am I doing? What should I move or change? Thx A: I typically like to contain my books in something when accessorizing a coffee table as large as this. RH makes a really large metal tray that could be cool on your rustic table, I'd add a stack of your books topped with one of your accessories and then another larger accessory next to it or even a candle. You could always add a potted plant/orchid in a colorful/textural pot. See the photos below for specifics. I've also included a picture of a much smaller table with a tray and accessories so you can see another idea. Best of luck! **Q: Window treatment help please!** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hello, I could use some advice on what to put on my living room windows. I love the light they let in, and don't want to cover them too much. My house is fairly contemporary, with some rustic touches, neutral colors. Thank you! A: I would suggest side panels. Find a fabric you like that pulls all the design elements in your space together, texture, colors, pattern, and have some single width panels made. Be sure to hang them as high as possible and make sure they touch the floor, there is nothing worse than short curtains! I typically like a very informal pleat to keep the feel relaxed and soft. Here is a photo of a side panel we used, note the rod is mounted as high as possible to really bring your eye up and make the ceilings feel taller. Window treatments are a really great way to add warmth and they also absorb sounds and pull a space together. Good luck with your project! **Q: I need help finishing the kitchen.** *(in Design Dilemma)* Ideally I would like to have a a furniture style island for a work space plus an eat in table that seats six. But I don't know if I can do both or if I should do a multi-functional island. Also thought of doing another wall of shallow cabinets / shelves on the bare wall with a narrow counter. Or a bench with a table? I am open to suggestions and would welcome advice. The doorway by the fridge goes to the mudroom. The kitchen measures 13.11 ft by 13.11 ft. This time with more photos! A: I would suggest a built in bench, could possibly have some storage under the seat with room for 2 people at a minimum, float a table in front of that, you'd easily have room for 4 chairs (2 at ends of table and 2 opposite banquette). The bench would be a great place for you to incorporate color and pattern with fabrics on the cushion and possibly throw pillows. It's hard to say for sure, but I think you might still have room for a skinny island to float in the center of your kitchen. Once the table and bench are in place you could always add that if you feel it's needed. You could incorporate storage on either side of the bench seating similar to this: You could do a great grouping of art over the bench seat which will incorporate more texture, color and visual impact. You've done a wonderful job so far, keep up the good work! **Q: Where are those hanging lights from?** *(in Photo Questions)* I do outdoor lighting systems and I would love to be able to utilize the hanging lights as seen in the picture.
