> I was planning to purchase super white granite from Global to use for my kitchen counter tops.  We were able to view one slab at Global and they brought another slab from the same lot in from a different store.  When our fabricator received the slabs at their shop, they refused them.   The slabs had too many flaws.  Therefore, we had to really hustle to find some other stone that we liked.  We also came to find out that there is really no such thing as super white granite, so I am not even sure what the slabs were that that G;lobal tried to sell me.  Needless to say we bought our stone elsewhere and will not patronize Global again.

What type of stone is the countertop? I love it. Thanks

A: This is 3cm Calacatta Oro marble. Stop by one of our three locations (St. Louis, Louisville, and Indianapolis) to view what's in stock.

**Q: Is emperador marble or granite?** *(in Photo Questions)*

want to use as bathroom countertop polished and floor accents honed.

A: Emperador Dark is marble.

**Q: i love the look of soapstone but is it heard to maintain** *(in Photo Questions)*

does soapstone stain? what maintenance is required? i've heard that water marks stain.

A: Soapstone is so dense that it is nonporous. You do not have to worry about staining and no sealer is required. It is made from Talc which is a 1 on the scale of hardness so it is a very soft material. For this reason you can expect to see surface scratches through use. As far as maintenance you can choose to mineral oil the surface. This process will darken the color and conceal any surface scratches. Every day cleaning can be done with PH neutral soap and water. Water marks will not stain this surface.

A: Yes, if you search 'Imperial Coffee Granite' you'll find quite a few photos that have used this granite with white cabinetry.

**Q: BEAUTIFUL RED GRANITE! IS IT HARD TO FIND?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I HAVE NEVER SEEN RED GRANITE OR MARBLE (EXCEPT IN ROME!); WHERE CAN I FIND IT? WE ARE BUILDING A LAKE HOUSE, AND I WOULD LIKE TO FIND IT. THANKS

A: This is a marble called Grigio Carnico and is generally a darker grey background with fine to bold white veining.
