**★★★★★ — Erick Doolen, Sept. 2025**

> Richard Shugar and his team at 2form Architecture who designed our recently completed house demonstrated a collaborative approach, actively taking our input and incorporating it into the design. This ensured that our vision and requirements were seamlessly integrated into the final design. The modern design not only met our needs but also took full advantage of the challenging site, showcasing the architect's ability to work with difficult terrains and still produce an aesthetically pleasing and functional home. Throughout the project, the architect maintained excellent communication, keeping us informed and involved at every stage. Additionally, the architect's involvement did not end with the design phase; they were helpful and engaged throughout the construction process to help ensure the build was per their detailed design. This level of dedication and professionalism resulted in a home that we are incredibly proud of and grateful for. The architect's ability to blend modern design with our specific requirements, coupled with their collaborative and communicative approach, made the entire experience positive and rewarding. We highly recommend their services to anyone looking for a skilled and client-focused architect.

**★★★★★ — Carol Toni Goldenberg, Sept. 2025**

> When I decided to have a new house built for me I took my ideas to Richard Shugar, who owns 2Form Architecture. I shared my ideas with him. He was receptive and enthusiastic. He even suggested more exciting ideas.Working with him and his crew was supportive and creative. I loved going to the sessions and they answered all my questions.
> As the house was being built they worked with the builders. They provided me with sessions to
> update and choose materials, lighting fixtures, floors and much more in a timely manner.Richard and his staff created a beautiful home for me with all my preferences. I highly recommend them for designing your project. Toni Goldenberg

**★★★★★ — Chris H., July 2025**

> Richard and the team at 2fORM Architecture have consistently demonstrated exceptional professionalism, enthusiasm, and care throughout the entirety of the design process. I felt that my ideas and dreams were truly heard and brought into fruition in ways I could not have navigated nor imagined myself. The quality of the work and overall experience was unmatched and I am grateful!

**★★★★★ — Calen, July 2025**

> Rockstars of the local Eugene scene! Richard and his team and beyond kind, and you can tell they really love their work.

**★★★★★ — HU-873382353, March 2023**

> Experience working with Richard has been exceptional. A well rounded team that offers both sensible design and the timeliness to keep projects on track. Happy to have had the experience. Richard is also quick to reply and extremely honest and helpful, I highly recommend 2fORM Architecture!

**★★★★★ — Robert Kipper, Oct. 2019**

> Richard's collaborative team approach is what sold us on moving forward with 2fORM Architecture for our remolding project. We couldn't be happier with the results. Relocating back to Oregon during the project meant timely and efficient communication was paramount. Richard met with us onsite to walk through our vision of an open concept, "age in place" home, His team's first cut at the design was spot on with minimal changes necessary. Meetings were always efficient and productive. The team has an excellent sense of finding the knee of the value curve when recommending materials and fixtures. After the first onsite meeting, Richard provided an estimated cost range, the percent of 2fORM's cost to the total project cost -- they came in at the low end of their estimate.

**★★★★★ — Mica McOmber-Three Creeks Construction, June 2016**

> Richard, I can't believe it has already been 6 years since we built our house. My family and I have been very blessed to enjoy every single day in our beautiful home. We can't thank you enough for your help, and your truly inspiring design.
> How many things in life, can create such enjoyment and a lasting impact on a daily basis? We love our home!
> My family and I look forward to many more years of enjoyment.

**★★★★★ — Pro Contracting "The Countertop Specialist", July 2014**

> Richard & his team are as professional, thorough and talented as one could find for an architecture firm!
> The attention to detail that they put into each one of their projects - commercial & residential, is always top notch. Every little detail is processed, mapped out and put into play... The use of materials, knowing their surroundings both inside and out are just a small fraction of what they factor in on every project for their clients! Second-to-none quality and service - 2fORM Architecture nails on every project. I've always been thoroughly impressed and plan to use them in the future on my own projects!

**★★★★★ — Tera Dschaak-James, July 2014**

> Richard and team were awesome. Tireless effort was spent to understand our vision and make it happen. Thoughtful and solid ideas that made more sense than our initial design were brought to the forefront with creative and practical reasons to back them up. The process was seamless. 2FORM made our dream happen! Rave reviews of our project still happen today!
> THANK YOU!

**★★★★★ — Seamus Walsh, July 2014**

> Richard helped us with a major remodel and addition to our house in the country. His vision of the design opened new doors and interesting options for our unusual house. Our house has since been featured in two home and garden sections of the local papers. It was also a runner up for a feature on HGTV! We are still enjoying the space he helped create. Richard is an all around great guy to work with.

**★★★★★ — katietibbitts, June 2014**

> My husband and I worked with 2-Form over a period of three years to create a one-of-a-kind passive solar, LEED Gold home in south Eugene. From the beginning, Richard Shugar, the lead architect, listened to our dreams, wants, and wishes, for the home and helped to make it become a reality. His team worked hard on complicated details, and Richard was often on the site, working with the builder to work through any design complexities. This was particularly important because my husband and I were living in the Bay Area during some of the design process and much of the building process.

  - Location: Eugene, OR
  - Photos: 17
  - Description: Featured in 1859 Oregon's Magazine - June, 2013 Set on a site that is quintessentially “Oregon”, the Hillside Residence needed an update to not only utilize the striking landscape but also to add 21st century technology systems into the home. For 2fORM, the challenge was to breathe new life into a mid-century modern home. The intention was to bring the client improved spatial organization and a better overall design, but also provide long-term durability with green strategies such as enhanced th…

  - Description: AIA People's Choice & Colleague's for Residential Architecture Featured in Eugene Magazine - August 2010 The property is located along the north bank of the McKenzie River and features old-growth trees and a breathtaking view of Eagle Rock, a basalt column rock formation at the river’s edge. In the middle of a Douglas Fir forest, the building site was carefully chosen to minimize the removal of existing trees. - Location: Not specified
  - Photos: 11
  - Description: At first glance, Tyler and Tera’s College Hill home looks modest, with the same basic outlines and proportions from when it was built in the 1940s. There are subtle hints — like the translucent garage door and a mix of painted cedar siding with horizontal slats of tropical wood — that indicates this mid-century family home is ready for a new generation. “We bought the house knowing it would require a major renovation,” says Tera James. “It was hard to imagine how to fix it, with its low ceilings…
- [Snow Creek Residence](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/snow-creek-residence-pj-vj~19489)
  - Location: Not specified
  - Photos: 7
  - Description: AIA People's Choice & Colleague's Choice for Multi-Family Architecture The owners of the Snow Creek Residence chose a steep site with dense forest just outside of Corvallis for their new home. Thoughtful placement of the building on the site maximizes exposure to southern light, as one of the goals of the project was to provide as much natural light as possible. The limited budget drove many of the initial design choices: the main living spaces are all open to each other, and the kitchen flows t…

  - Photos: 6
  - Description: AIA Mayor's Choice for Interior Architecture Bringing the family together was the goal of this extensive kitchen remodel. This active, young family wanted spaces that would allow togetherness without crowding. To accomplish this, the existing kitchen and family room were joined together into a work, study, and gathering space. 2fORM developed several schemes to accomplish the owner’s goals of spatial connections. New cabinetry was an integral part of the design as it allowed the room to be acces…

  - Location: Not specified
  - Photos: 7
  - Description: The Woodland Kitchen started as a very isolated and outdated space in a classic 1959 mid-century modern home. The galley style kitchen was confined with little connection to the adjacent dining and living spaces. The challenge in this project was to create a clean and timeless look that respected the authentic vintage character of the home. The homeowners wanted to open the kitchen to the dining and living areas to allow conversation and light to flow more freely through the spaces. To make this…

  - Description: Featured in Oregon Home Magazine - October 2008 The owners had a lifelong dream of having a house on the river as they love fishing, gardening and being outdoors. Finding this 6-acre site with a house that had the McKenzie River right outside the back door was a stroke of luck. The house had great bones, with high ceilings and beautifully aged wood floors, along with dated finishes and very little connection to the landscape. The goal of the remodel was to reorient the house towards the river, m…
