### Reviews

**★★★★★ — The Impeccable Nest LLC, Dec. 2025**

> As a subcontractor, I truly enjoy working with Shaker Interiors. They are organized, professional, and communicate clearly, which makes coordinating schedules and executing the work efficient and straightforward. Their plans are well thought out, and they respect the expertise of the trades, creating a collaborative environment. Nikki’s attention to detail and commitment to quality results in smooth projects and beautiful finished results. I would gladly continue working with them and highly recommend them to other trades and clients alike.

**★★★★★ — Weil family room and office redo, Dec. 2024**

> Nikki is so thoughtful and caring. She did beautiful work and was extremely focused on each detail. She transformed our family room, helping to make it bright and cheerful. My office is perfect with a few simple changes.

**Comment from Shaker Interiors:**

> Meredith, it was a pleasure working with and for you and I’m delighted you love the transformations!

**★★★★★ — HU-851532551, Dec. 2023**

> I have been working with Nikki for over a decade and all I can say is that she is a visionary. I have built two homes and Nikki has helped me make both homes exquisite. From layout plans, finishes, window treatments, furniture, fabrics, the list goes on! Nikki is extremely organized, responsive, and has great communication. She really listens to her clients and gives them what they want, not “what’s best for them,” which other designers do sometimes. Nikki is gifted at taking my ideas and crystallizing them into a cohesive look (how she does it, I do not know). Working with Nikki is an absolute pleasure and she is amazing.

**★★★★★ — Emma, May 2023**

> Nikki and Gerald are so talented, meticulous, kind, and smart. We are thrilled with our new bathroom and we were so pleasantly surprised with how smooth the process was (on our end at least!). They took my ideas for our bathroom and somehow made it 100 times better. I would recommend Shaker Interiors to everyone!

**★★★★★ — Leanne Sauerland, March 2022**

> Nikki did a wonderful job wallpapering our not so easy bathroom walls. Quite a bit
> of prep was necessary to make the finished product look great. Nikki and the professionals
> she works with are not satisfied until you are satisfied. Thanks so much for the help
> with our bathroom! Highly recommend.

**★★★★★ — Home Office, Jan. 2022**

> Nikki & Gerald are everything your looking for in a design team! Their talent & attention to detail have made us friends & clients for life. We gave them a few cluttered ideas & they designed the perfect home office for my husband. They welcome our ideas and gently guided us through the whole process, and every penny to be spent is accounted for up front. They are organized and efficient and the only thing that can slow them down is this darn pandemic. They handle it with grace & true professionalism.

**Comment from Shaker Interiors:**

> We loved this project and are thrilled you do, too! It's been our pleasure to help transform Nick's office and we are excited to start round two in the coming weeks:)

**★★★★★ — ssmiff, Jan. 2022**

> Nikki is a very effective communicator both listening well to our objectives and clearly communicating her ideas, strategies and alternative solutions. She is also very efficient in managing time as well as existing decorative resources. She is very results oriented ensuring our complete satisfaction with the project (s).

**★★★★★ — Julie C, Sept. 2021**

> Along with having good taste, Nikki is extremely responsive and communicative with her clients. She takes care of every detail so you won’t have to.

**Comment from Shaker Interiors:**

> Thank you, Julie. It's always a pleasure working with you. We share a love of color, pattern and fine craftsmanship!

**★★★★★ — Lisa S., Dec. 2020**

> I have been working with Nikki and Gerald on a few projects and I am so pleased! Nikki helped transform my boring home office into a beautiful inviting space and Gerald created a gorgeous hallway cabinet that we will enjoy for years to come! They are both very communicative and respond to emails, calls or texts quickly. They aim to be very transparent which I appreciate and they will work hard to make your inspirations come to fruition!

**Comment from Shaker Interiors:**

> Thank you, Lisa! We had a great time bringing your vision to life!

**★★★★★ — Susan L, Dec. 2020**

> We unreservedly recommend Nikki Pulver and Shaker Interiors for any interior design project.
> When choosing a designer, it is so important to select someone who is easy to work with, a great communicator, and someone you feel truly has your best interests at heart. Nikki possesses all of these and more. She is so creatively talented and has a fine eye for quality and design. She has such positive energy and is very detail oriented. She truly goes above and beyond to bring exceptional service and stunning results in a timely and professional manner. Nikki is a first-class designer.

**★★★★★ — Livable Living Room, Dec. 2020**

> Nikki completed a nearly impossible task - take a formal Shaker living room that would be used 1-2 times a year and turn it into a living room for actual daily living with kids and pets. She created a bold room balancing four bright colors and seven patterns along with trim and pompoms (because every room needs a few pompoms, right?) With stain-resistant fabrics and a lot of Fiber Seal, we use the room every day for family movies, hosting book club or Browns viewing, or reading on the custom extra-long chaise. Thanks, Nikki and Shaker Interiors!

**★★★★★ — Libby Ray, March 2020**

> Nikki and Gerald are truly a one-of-a kind team, and both entirely exceeded our expectations. Nikki is professional, incredibly organized, and very communicative. Despite a few hiccups in the plans, our master bathroom project remarkably finished right on time. Nikki has a tight timeline and there were tradesman at our house nearly at all times working diligently to complete the project on time. She's a perfectionist to the N'th degree, which is exactly what you want in a designer or project manager. Gerald is a master craftsman unlike any I've seen before. Both are true professionals and totally excel at their craft, and both have become good friends. I trust them in my house like my own family. Thank you, Nikki and Gerald, for giving us and the kids two fantastic Shaker bathrooms. We are so grateful!

  - Location: Cleveland, OH
  - Photos: 16
  - Description: A classic, light filled white and walnut kitchen renovation in Shaker Heights, Ohio. The original space was poorly laid out with a peninsula that chopped the room in half. At the top of the owners' wish list was opening up the room, a large island with farmhouse sink, a commercial sized range and an eat in table and banquette. We selected a faux slate porcelain tile floor for contrast with all the white cabinetry, while its durability is a plus for the family of five plus fluffy Golden Retriever…

  - Description: An adventurous couple with an incredible modern art collection asked Shaker Interiors to reimagine their Pepper Pike, Ohio, dining room. We started with the wife's favorite hue, purple, and just kept amping up the bling. The set of twelve vintage chrome chairs was sourced from a Miami antiques shop and we had the chairs reupholstered in a hand spray painted velvet. The random nature of the textile gives each chair its own look. Tailored silk drapery panels are edged with a gorgeous ombre tassel…

  - Location: Chagrin Falls, OH

  - Description: After a flood from an upstairs bathroom soaked the walls and flooring of their powder room, the homeowners wanted to add some bling to their elegant, but sedate, powder room. A Phillip Jeffries gilded and blackened paper was chosen for richness and shimmer on the ceiling, while Cole and Sons "Orchid" paper, with its golden and black blooms on a rich blue ground simply gleams on the walls. It's a little jewel box of a space and the perfect spot to add impact with saturated color and sparkle.

  - Description: A young family was ready to ditch their college possessions and welcome in a grown-up, but cheerful color scheme and furniture plan for their living and dining rooms. The couple inherited a Ming-style dining room set, so we ran with the theme and brought in a fanciful, Asian floral rug in vibrant shades of green, orange and primary colors on a muted grey ground. ## Community Q&A

**Q: where can i purchase the area rug** *(in Photo Questions)*

lmkmastro@gmail.com

A: Hi! This is a vintage Oushak I sourced for the project.

**Q: Help with back splash and counter tops** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We are remodeling our kitchen. I believe I have narrowed it down to white cabinets, MSI quartz soapstone mist counter tops and arabescato caarrara subway tile for the backsplash. We have not selected flooring yet but I am leaning toward a darker wood. I am trying to decide between a polishedvs honed finish for the counters and backsplash. Not sure which way to go. I am attaching our designs but we will be going with a wood hood instead of a stainless chimney style. My inspiration pics are attached as well

A: I agree with Jeanne on the finsihes. Love a dark floor for contrast! They’re a little more high maintenance than a medium toned floor bc they show more crumbs, but a kitchen should be kept clean anyway :).

**Q: kitchen windows boring** *(in Home Decorating)*

We had updated our kitchen a few years ago, but I feel like the eating area and the windows over the sink seem boring. I don't want to close up the windows, but what do I do without it also looking outdated? Do I place window cornice on all windows? Do I spice up the eating area instead? Not sure what to do to make the area look cozier.

A: I’d suggest faux Roman shades mounted right under the ceiling so they don’t interfere too much with your view (they’d cover some of the casing). They’ll add warmth, texture, and make your ceilings appear taller by drawing your eye up. Plus, you won’t have to move your dog bed;)

**Q: Where did you get this chandelier?** *(in Photo Questions)*

It's so beautiful!

A: Hi there, it’s from Currey and Co. The funny thing is I just installed the same fixture (in silver) in my new home yesterday! Please let me know if you’d like pricing or have any other questions as I’m very familiar with this beautiful fixture.

**Q: Help! Anyone know the name of this tile?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Wherever I find a picture of this tile there is no name or even brand name to look for. Anyone seen it before??? Know the name???

A: You can look at Mercury Mosaics’s website. They’re based in Minnesota and do a range of handmade shapes and beautiful colors. This pattern is similar, if you just went with the diamond.
https://mercurymosaics.com/collections/large-hexagon-medium-diamonds-star-pattern

**Q: High quality, long lasting USA made sofas for a family room?** *(in Furniture)*

We have been on the hunt for a new sofa and chairs for our family room that gets daily use. Upon doing our research it has become apparent that finding a high quality, long-lasting USA made sofa with consistently great reviews is really difficult, especially with some kind of warranty. Our biggest concern is comfort and quality to ensure it will be a worthwhile investment that can stand the test of time (8-way hand tied, Kiln dried wood, etc.)
We tested out a Burton James sofa and a MT Company chair, and were also looking at Wesley Hall. They seemed great on the floor, but wanted to do deeper research before pulling the trigger, and are curious if others have had actual experiences with these brands, or if there are recommendations for other brands that should be considered? Any suggestions are so welcomed!

A: I think Hickory Chair and Pearson are wonderful quality. They are made at the same factory in Hickory, NC, which I have visited. Besides having eight way, hand tied coils, you should sit in whatever you are going to purchase, because a high quality sofa is going to run at least $4,000. Act like Goldy Locks and find the “just right” comfort level for you and your family. That could require sitting in lots of sofas. The seat depth, back pitch, and cushion composition are really important.
