> We have built three homes in the last 10 years. The lighting in a home is like jewelry, one of the most important features of each room. Lighting fixture selections are very important to the mood of the home and need to be carefully selected. Ronnie, one of the owners, has taken the time for each home to listen and help us select the perfect lighting, taking into consideration not only style, but size and wattage. We probably could have muddled through without her help... But we never would want to!!!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Help with outdoor lighting** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I have a light colored brick.. and want some outdoor lights by the garage and a hanging pendant. Would nickel or pewter work?

A: More often than not, outdoor lighting is going to be a variation of a bronze finish, but not all the time, in fact there are also a few lighting families that offer multiple finishes. Our website is designed so that you can search for any type of lighting including outdoor lighting by finish. Check out universallightsinc.com from there you can search for whatever kind of lighting you would like. Here is a link to our outdoor selection, as you can see, there are about 8 available in nickel, and over 4000 in bronze. http://universallightsinc.com/search\_result.asp?params=Installation:9;Description:20;
Happy Hunting, and please feel free to call with any inquiries!

**Q: Same light fixtures throughout house or different?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I'm decorating a dining and living room (they are connected rooms open to each other). The light fixtures in the foyer, dining and kitchen match (black). I'm torn as to whether I change the dining fixture or keep the same. And I'm thinking to add a chandelier in the living room, and if so, change the dining and living to match. What's the call on this? Should I work with the black one I've got in the dining to keep the same? Pics of dining, foyer and living below...and a pic of the chandelier I'm considering putting in the dining room...thanks!

A: It is not necessary to use two fixtures from the same family, however you do want them to compliment with each other especially if they are visible from each other. However, in different rooms of the house, there is no need to match fixtures with what you have in your entry or dining room.

**Q: Can buy part for this light or have replace entire light fixture,,,,,,** *(in Product Questions)*

center light fixture not making connection with bulb the part that touches bulb make stay on make light flicker an try ace bulbs,Ge bulbs etc told need replace entire fixture , house is six years old built by Larry bandstra an got light fixture from sumter light house,wondering if can buy part that goes inside the center fixture without purchasing entire fixture make picture so can come by shop see if got in stock or have order it if need entire fixture ,,,,, thanks,,,,,

A: Most electrical supply stores will have your standard ceramic socket with extended leads on it that you can use.

**Q: Is this light compatible with LED light bulb?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Is this light compatible with LED light bulb?

A: That appears to be a style T10 bulb. There are LED variations of this that will work as long as they a standard medium base.

**Q: Is the light a florescent tone or a warm light?** *(in Product Questions)*

A: Most come in variable color temps of LED but the standard is between a 3000K and 4100K which will both look a lot more like the tubes. Warm would be 2700K

**Q: Can this be used in a down-light position?** *(in Product Questions)*

A: Hi sjpeet, this sconce can be used right side up or upside down. There is a socket collar holding the glass to the fixture so whichever position you prefer is fine.
