Feel free to knock on the door if you want me to show off the inside as well. You CAN shop around for contractors that will charge less (and probably find quite a few...), but you will NEVER find a contractor that performs better more professional work AND has the best subs - from the framers (Lone Peak), to the mason (Pat at PATCO does AMAZING work !) to the electricians (Scott and his crew at Distinct Electrical) to his OUTSTANDING painters (which is obvious on the outside, and looks just as AWESOME on the inside!). I can't overstate how pleased I am with their work, coordination, and professionalism. In addition, the plan was to renovate and update both units. After interviewing five very reputable builders in the area, Chris Towson and Living Home was the only one who understood the scope of the project. Putting in the staircase was probably the most challenging part of the project and they did a remarkable job with the engineering and production of the staircase. It's unbelievably beautiful. To complicate the project even more, we were living in Boston and doing the project long distance. The project manager, Chris Wright, did such a great job keeping us informed about the progress of the project by sending photos and posting a daily log for us. We really wanted to stay within the budget and even though we added some things to the initial design, we felt that Living Homes did a very good job at estimating the cost of the project. The subs always spoke so highly of working for Living Homes and we felt like the sub-contractors were the best in the business. Each one went out of their way to give us options on their particular specialty. Of course we were concerned about the quality of the work and it was great, but what was more important to us was the integrity of the contractor. We can honestly say that Chris Towson and Chris Wright were always honest and forthright. We had a large remodeling job and were out of the main floor of our home for about 6.5 months. Chris and his team were sensitive to our specific needs and wishes. His painting, finish carpenter, electrical, flooring, tile, masonry, iron and metal, and stone/hard surface subcontractors each loved what they do, took pride in the details of their work, and achieved some beautiful, amazing results in our home. I am a big fan of Chris Towson and Living Home Construction and was even more pleased with their work than I expected. Finally, Chris and his team communicated often and clearly with us and used website to keep up informed about the schedule and change orders. Communication with Chris was easy, he was always on time for our meetings, and he was flexible with changes throughout the process. And our punchlist was surprisingly short. They also use electronic communication to keep tabs on the project, including current progress in pictures. We lived in the basement through most of the project and felt very comfortable with the Living Home crew and their subcontractors coming and going. Even several months later, they remain responsive.
