Pickard Construction has been serving Central Vancouver Island for custom homes for over 35 years. From custom homes to additions, renovations, agricultural projects and light commercial work, Pickard Construction has been "building" the community since 1983. Charlie and Sheila Pickard, along with their crew, work to ensure each construction project is an enjoyable and stress-free experience.

Pickard Construction is a family-owned & operated company. With a passion for construction and very few jobs available in 1983, Charlie started Pickard Construction -- equipped with his Carpenter's Journeyman ticket. Since then, the company has grown to employ many members of the community over the years -- including all four of their sons and two of their daughter in laws.  Sheila keeps things running smoothly on the back end. They are a true family run company, with family values.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Need help updating central structure fireplace** *(in Design Dilemma)*

The fireplace is central structural support and contains 2 chimneys. We are looking for a design approach that will help us to affordably update the structure. 

We are planning to leave it as a wood-burning fireplace and want to install the TV above.
