> After years of attempting to handle my landscape design myself, I finally hired a professional. And WOW, he did an amazing job! Ron is a good communicator who is easy to work with. He was flexible. He delivered the job on time and stayed within budget.
>
> He took my overgrown, crowded jungle of a backyard and made it into a peaceful haven, so beautiful and so natural. He reused established plants and moved them to a place where they could grow and flourish. He designed a lovely patio, a place for our grill, a natural stone stairway and walkway, and built us a hammock stand. He's great with greenery, stone, brick, and wood. He gave me color to enjoy throughout spring, summer, and fall. Great designer. His team is dedicated, respectful, and proficient.

> I met Ron and his wife Judy at a home show. After coming up with an impressive CAD drawing we decided to hire him to landscape our front yard in 2014. We liked that so well that we decided to have him do our back and side yards in 2015. Ron and his crew are very professional and great to work with.

**Comment from Basic Landscape:**

> Thank you for taking the time to post a review for us! (and with pictures, very impressive!)
> We can't wait to see your yard again and get some pictures of the patio and lighting.
> Looking forward to warmer weather & another great year,
> Ron

> As a resident of Winfield, I have used several sever landscaping companies over the last few years. Two years ago, I was lucky enough to contact Ron Levinson of Basiic Landscape to replace a tree in my backyard. It was quickly apparent that Mr. Levinson was the professional landscaper that I had been searching for. After discussing all my landscape issues, Mr. Levinson presented a proposal to address them all. As a result, I am pleased to have the best looking yard in my neighborhood! Basic Landscape gave my older plantings new life by proper pruning and trimming, added plantings that complimented the older plantings, resolved my yard's drainage issues and brought more color that brightens the appearance of my yard from early spring to late fall. I look forward to continuing their services through the years ahead.

**Comment from Basic Landscape:**

> Many thanks John,
> Having clients that appreciate our efforts is what keeps us going!
> Look forward to seeing you again as soon as spring gets here.

> We have used Basic Landscape for several years for occasional general yard maintenance. The basic landscape team has always done great work for us at a reasonable cost. So it was natural that we asked them for a quote when we wanted to add a patio and fireplace to the backyard.
>
> The folks at Basic Landscape provided us with the most reasonable quote, so we moved forward with them. They were not representing any specific brands, so they were very open to any ideas we brought to our project. They also offered several ideas and were never disappointed if we didn’t love any of their plans. The designer was able to offer suggestions about how to keep costs low and which splurges might offer the best bang-for-the-buck. In the end, we had a great mix of our wants and the Basic Landscape team’s experienced input. It was the perfect designing/planning experience up front, with no games and no pressure.
>
> During construction, the crew was very careful of the existing yard/landscape and always professional, without ever being a nuisance to us homeowners or our neighbors. The crew leader was responsive and kept us informed as any issues arose. We did experience some delay during the construction, but it was due to extremely heavy rains that lasts a few weeks. That was totally out of the control of Basic Landscape, and they did their best to keep our project moving. The build phase went as well as it could have.
>
> In the end, we have a great new outdoor patio space with a fireplace. We’ve been enjoying it all summer and fall, as it creates a terrific space for hosting friends and family outside. Even when we’re not using it, we get to enjoy a beautiful view of our new patio area. We are so pleased with the results, and looking forward to more projects with Basic Landscape.

**Comment from Basic Landscape:**

> Ron and his crew, including wife Judy, have been a key ingredient to our near perfect lawn, shrubs and large birch tree treatment for almost fifteen years. They annually plant beautiful flowers for us and have done our spring and fall cleanups. Ron installed a great landscape lighting system for us as well. I strongly recommend Basic Landscape to help enjoy great home surroundings

**Comment from Basic Landscape:**

> Always great to hear from you Mike, I'm truly grateful for the relationship we've been able to maintain over the years and hope all is well at your new place.
> Warm regards to you & Shirley!

> Ron did a beautiful design and installation when I had my entire front yard re-landscaped.
> He was able to help me envision what the yard would look like when the work was complete.
>
> Basic Landscape installed a brick patio at my house several years ago. When addition work was required I was pleased to have them back

**Comment from Basic Landscape:**

> So wonderful to hear from repeat customers that we not only did a great job, but that they'd gladly hire us again.

> Thank You!

> I am picky and generally not easy to please. I know what I want but have a hard time expressing it. Ron knew what questions to ask to pry enough information out of me to deliver a wonderful fire pit, flag stone patio, and plantings to compliment it. Ron's team got the job done promptly, but yet paid great attention to the details. My property was cleaned up and in good shape after all of the work was completed. If you want the job done right, Basic Landscape is the right company for the job.

**Comment from Basic Landscape:**

> Always a pleasure to work with you & we can't wait to spend some time catching up with you around the fire pit just as soon as the weather will allow it.

> Several years ago we started using Ron Levinson's Basic Landscape company out of Lombard, Illinois for a few small projects - and very quickly we were impressed with both their workmanship and their design ideas. One small project led to another, and soon we were talking about taking over the entire property - both design and just as important the maintenance of everything once completed. Several years have now passed, and we are as pleased as we could possibly be with everything - its beauty, and also the regular care for the property - which could not be more reliable. I cannot recommend Ron Levinson's Basic Landscape company more highly - a five star plus company.

**Comment from Basic Landscape:**

> Dick,
> Thank you for the wonderful review.
> We always look forward to visiting with you, working on your yard and seeing things grow into what we had envisioned when this all began.(is it really that long ago?)
> We'll see you few more weeks!

**★★★★ — rich\_gould, March 2014**

> Basic Landscape helped us choose the right plants for our location and for the desired appearance. Ron is extremely knowledgeable about different species and where each will grow successfully.
>
> One of the trees died after the first winter, and it was replaced quickly, without drama, and at no cost as part of their guarantee.

**★★★★★ — jtillini27, March 2014**

> He does a great job and is consistently professional! The work is at a very high level of quality. He responds quickly to questions.

**★★★★★ — mhof3626, Feb. 2014**

> I have worked as a supplier with Ron on several different projects and enjoy the fact that he is a professional in the landscaping trade. He continually hones his craft by keeping up on new techniques by attending industry training sessions and genuinely cares about the work he is performing and the customers he is working for.

  - Location: Wheaton, IL

  - Description: Located on a busy corner in Wheaton, Illinois, this side yard is exposed to the street and public walk leaving very little privacy for the homeowners. Overgrown with weed trees, the landscape needed a major overhaul to make it a functional, welcoming and tranquil sanctuary. The use of existing mature trees and strategically placed Hemlock provide screening while the basalt fountain adds soothing elements of sound and motion to the environment.

  - Description: A large corner lot with a tiny pie shaped back yard made for some interesting design challenges. The solution was to turn every inch of space the village would let us have into an outdoor refuge with carefully organized areas for cooking and entertaining under a custom cedar pavilion.

  - Description: Capture - Store - Use The RainXchange Rainwater Harvesting System These photos are from the installation of a 1000 gallon Rainxchange rainwater harvesting system which we did in 2011. A narrow side yard was the exit point for 4 downspouts and a sump pump discharge. Needless to say, the area was a swamp for weeks after any substantial rain. 2 large dogs churned the wet turf into a muddy mess every chance they got . Rather than dumping the water into a drywell or running it off of the property and…

The design incorporates flagstone salvaged from the original landscape and repurposed as a patio for the fire pit and stepping stones in the back yard, the front foundation gets a new retaining wall of this same salvaged material. A water feature sited between the main outdoor living space and fire pit patio becomes a major focal point.
