> SunAlta was a pleasure to work with on a Master En-suite renovation design and we recommend Jade without hesitation. Jade provided very creative layout options and final plan drawings that were exact. I would highly recommend Jade and SunAlta Design based our experience with their professionalism, timeliness, trade recommendations, and high quality design work. Jade is a pleasure to work with, we are very pleased with the results, and hope to utilize their services on future projects..

> I highly recommend Jade to anyone.
> We had extensive renovations done and Jade was there every moment we needed her.
> The cabinet design and measurements were so spot on that our cabinet makers said that they had never seen such complete plans. Her remodel of my fireplace was better that I expected. My husband say's " she is an unusual combination of creative and practical. She was a lifesaver and wouldn't hesitate to use her again. In fact we are doing our third and final bathroom and Jade is again our designer."

**Comment from SunAlta Design:**

> Jade has been a lot of help. We didn't know which way to go with our project, her experience and knowledge has been a perfect fit for us. We received great value, her experience shows through, the carpenter found her to be easy to relate to. I believe that she has made things a lot easier for us with an exciting plan and expert advice.

> We enjoyed working with Jade she was recommended by a general contractor we hired to do some extensive renovations on a 1940’s home. Jade was very professional and true to her word. She helped us design our kitchen a bathroom and master bedroom. She connected us with an excellent supplier for our bathroom fixtures. We are very happy with the end results. We would recommend SunAlta Design.

**Comment from SunAlta Design:**

Jade literally generated my exact vision of what I had communicated into renditions and plans for my carpenters/finishers. We are absolutely thrilled with the fished results. Jade, thank you for listening so intently, completing the designs so quickly, and delivering such elegance to the design of my home!! I have, and continue to refer you with great confidence! > SunAlta (Jade) did a great job and were always ready to make the time and then the changes we requested. Site visits along with patient discussions on what would work best really helped us to come up with the right design for our kitchen. The contractor used by Jade has great experience and they work very well together.

**★★★★★ — L H, Oct. 2015**

> We used SunAlta (Jade) to do some renovations in our house. We have lived in our house for 14 years, and it was time to make some changes. Jade discussed our concerns and wish list, and had excellent ideas for designing our rooms that suited our requirements, life style, and personality. They have a complete range of professional and well qualified trades people (e.g. finishing carpenter, electrician, dry waller, etc) on call, which means you don't have to find and hire them on your own. Jade does all the scheduling of the trades people, so you don't have to organize them. She came by with options for fireplace tiles, and worked with the drapery consultant to come up with the perfect products. The work was completed on time and on budget. SunAlta totally took the stress out of renovations. I definitely recommend SunAlta, and will use them in future.

> Jade, from Sun Alta Design, designed and oversaw the renovation of our kitchen and adjacent living area. Jade’s knowledge and expertise in design is vast. She not only provided a well thought out design for the kitchen, she coordinated the overall management of the process; researched and recommended the various kitchen elements (cabinets, countertops, lighting, tile, hardware fixtures, colour palette, plumbing fixtures, window and baseboard trims); recommended trades; and even designed the furniture layout for the adjacent living area.
>
> Jade has an incredible knowledge base, an eye for even the smallest detail, and excellent management skills. She was readily available to answer any questions that came up during the process.
>
> Jade has an easy going, approachable manner and we could not have completed (or even begun!) this renovation without her guidance and design expertise. I would recommend Jade for any home design project. She is the best!

**★★★★ — Shane Gee, April 2014**

> Jade from SunAlta Design, designed the layout for my condo's kitchen for a renovation I was doing. She provided me wonderful service offering a wide range of cabinet materials and profile designs. Allowing me to take home samples to compare to other materials provided me the opportunity to select materials as closely as others throughout the space.
>
> Her knowledge of what a cook would require regardless of space allowed me the opportunity to maximize every inch of my kitchen's space without any inefficiencies. Her thoroughness and attention to details and my needs was greatly appreciated. I felt reassured that I didn't have to "oversee" anything and could focus my attention on other parts of the renovation.
>
> Installation was smooth and the quality of work to the highest degree. The final produce is better than I had imagined.

**★★★★★ — Brian Dekker, Dec. 2013**

> Jade was indispensable in our renovation project. She quickly came up with the plans for our kitchen layout, which made ordering the cabinets and lighting, and doing the work myself, a breeze. She was a also very helpful when it came to choosing our countertop and all of the other colour choices such as tile and wall paint. We were very fortunate to find her. She was delightful to work with. We give Jade our highest endorsement.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Aarrghh URGENT help needed please** *(in Home Decorating)*

Hi all
Its been a while since I've been able to log on. Don't have much mobile data left, no internet in my new home yet so I'll be straight to the point and I hope I get an answer in time.
My sofa is opposite my fireplace (which has a large tv centred over it). The sofa cannot be directly centered with the tv/fireplace due to a large old fashioned protruding radiator on the sofa wall. So it's off to the left a bit.
I want to hang a picture above the sofa and the plan was to have it centred and directly opposite the tv.. with the sofa being off center now, do i center the art with the sofa or with the opposite tv??
Please help, fast.
Hu200

A: On the sofa.

**Q: Question about blind corner sizes/space requirements...** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Trying to get our cabinet design down and am wondering if I'm correct that several lines offer a Lemans type blind corner base that would fit into a 45-48 inch cabinet? Do I need to add anything to that for filler/spacing needs?

I do believe the other wall would need 3 inches of filler which works out just fine. But as I work this out, hoping that 45-48 max is truly all I need on one side.

Thanks for any experience you can share with these!

A: Certainly, below is a photo of a typical lemans corner with an open door.
Each cabinet manufacturer has different install specs for a blind corner unit, some require a "wall pull" some do not, the door and blind panel are sized accordingly. I have also included an example of a lemans in a project. Note in this instance the handle just clears the dishwasher allowing the door to open. Range is on the right. Appliances always are proud of the doors and as such as KD we need to account for their depths and handles. Ensure you compare the Lemans drawings to your kitchen layout.

**Q: Please tell me my table will fit!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I inherited a 54" round table from my grandmother. I absolutely love this table and it holds so much sentimental value for me. The problem is, the dining room in my new house will only be 10' x 12' 10". Will me table fit??

A: A general rule is approx 30" from the table edge to pull out a chair. You should be fine.

**Q: Ceiling and Furniture and Art, Oh My!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I need some suggestions for our new Florida home great room, especially furniture layout, wall art placement, and ceiling detail. This is currently a work in progress, so please ignore the pieces of wood trim and all of the baskets on the floor that I haven’t found homes for yet. I’m one of the lucky ones whose husband is a contractor and can build, paint, or install anything I need. The things that have to stay in place are the TV, and the TV console. Since we don’t have a fireplace in this house, I’m trying to make this into a TV gallery wall but I’ve only found a couple of elements that I like so far. Any thoughts on additions or placement? The things that have to stay somewhere are (1) my husband’s dark recliner (I would prefer that it stay in that general area because I don’t like it and I don’t want it to block the view of the lanai and pond), (2) the sofa and love seat (3) and the blue and cream rug. Should I get another chair? This ceiling fan is not working for me. I was trying to get an interesting one which is why I got the 2-blade one that you see, but I’m not liking this one and think I’ll be changing it for a 3-blade style. I think I need to do something interesting with the ceiling. Suggestions? Faux beams? Paint? Paneling? Do you think I need some kind of window treatment for the patio door windows? Oh, I forgot to tell you. I like Joanna Gaines’ simple style of decorating, but I’m not so much into the old farmhouse accessories. I like Northern California Napa style, but I’m tired of Tuscan tan walls, which is why these are pale grey. I’m not opposed to painting, or installing accent wall features. Thank you, thank you SO much for all of your help!!!

A: Try this configuration, don't worry about filling the space above the TV

**Q: Double vanities** *(in Photo Questions)*

What are the dimensions of vanities?

A: 32 x 19

**Q: What's the color** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Cabinets are white, walls are grey mist by Ben Moore.
