> I contacted Randy with outside matters after receiving various referrals for him on Nextdoor for his excellent work in Kensington. He was prompt to reply and was able to work side by side with a landscape architect (ground up design - look them up, also wonderful) to work with our space and create a wonderful  showcase of our new malm backyard fireplace. He was communicative and was regularly working with his team so there was no confusion as to objectives or straying from the renderings without proper advising. I appreciate that he gave a time and cost estimate and was able to stay at budget and completed the work from start to finish in consecutive activities and days rather than stop and go as I’ve unfortunately experienced with some contractors (especially on a small job). I will definitely contact Randy again in the future. Great, hardworking team of professionals at Outside Matters.

> My review of Randy (Outside Matters) is mixed. After a down to studs remodel on my home, I hire OM to renovate my outdoor space. Pros: Randy and I worked well together on the rough design, and then he took it many steps forward. His choice of hardscape materials was spot on (a choice that spurred me to go to Mexico to hand-pick my Canterra). And I have only doubted one or two of Randy's mature plant/tree selections, but his choice in colors that would compliment the style and color of my home: damn near perfect.
> Cons: I left it to Randy to make all of the decisions, hire subs, with respect to the installation of my hardscape, drainage, and lighting lighting installation. He ignored my request for a slip sheet under the stone and I now have severe cracking. I wanted drains installed in addition to the sloping in addition to the sloping ... not done. Now fight mold on my stonework. Irrigation: yeah ... overspray or under watered. Lighting: many incomplete lines during installation which has resulted in blown fuses so none of my lights have worked in years. Can't fix it without started over. Plus the electrical lines were all run visibly above ground. Not so pretty in a flower bed. Total redo.
> That said, Randy does have a wonderful eye for design and will never steer you wrong with regard to long-term plants that will enhance your environment. Superlative, actually. But hire others to implement your hard-scape, irrigation and lighting. With Randy overseeing. He does have a vision worth exploring.
