We’re not sure exactly when, but sometime shortly after World War II. About 1970, Sears decided to get out of the pool business, and sold it to Mr. Bernie Baruch. Dennis Wisby began working as an employee for Mr. Baruch in 1973. Dennis Wisby graduated from the University of Oregon in 1962, and then served in the United States Air Force, resigning with the rank of Captain in 1969. For some reason he was attracted to the pool business. When Mr. Baruch decided to sell Allstate Pools & Spas in 1978, Dennis bought the company. If you want a high end pool without the headaches of bad craftsmanship then these are your guys. Not only did I have Allstate do my pool but also my whole back yard! Almost half an acre. Dennis the owner along with Richard Babcock the designer have a great eye for exotic looks. They created a 3D video online that can be viewed by going to Bartron Household on youtube. Believe it or not it turned out even better than the video! We paid $2000 for a custom layout but they credited it toward the pool. After speaking with 4 different contractors, I decided to go with All State Pools because Dennis Wisby created a plan for a complete backyard transformation. Other contractors told us we can only build a very small pool and tried to make us pay for the permit and the video rendering. one of the contractor told us to only demo the area where the pool was going to be build and patch the concreate around the pool for the same price. Another contractor told us to build the pool and spa first and worry about the decking or the equipmet wall at a later time. Dennis created a complete plan with the largest possible pool for our backyard, complete with firepit, sitting area and beautiful pavers decking. Dennis also made arrangemet to move our AC to another location. In the end, we have a beautiful pool and spa and and my backyard look exactly like the video he showed us prior to the construction.
