A: Thanks so much! **Q: Should I paint this bedframe Shabby Chic??** *(in Design Dilemma)* I am trying to make a decision if I should paint this bed frame in Annie Sloan Old Orche Chalk Paint or leave it as is. I am redoing a guest room and love the look of painted slightly distressed look. Please send advise. A: I would leave it as is- do everything else in soft whites and find a large painting that incorporates that wood color and the gold emblem color- or find shutters with the same tones as the bed **Q: Best furniture layout?** *(in Design Dilemma)* We're closing on the house in about three weeks and I'm obsessed with furnishing it already. I have no budget, and were a family of four (children are 1.5 and 3.5). I imagine we'll be pretty informal for a fee years. Attached are pics of the current owners furniture.....I think the layout works pretty well, I'm hoping to purchase a nice sectional for the family room and our tv would be wall mounted on the same wall the current owner has hers. Should I consider a different layout? I've got no vision :( We're keeping the wall color, it's in great shape, so I'm also wondering how to bring in some color....I keep picturing pale blue in my head (see my problem!) Would a large area rug work over the carpet in the family room? Might the colors bleed on such a light carpet? I think I like coastal, traditional, clean lines, natural styles.....and I guess shy away from ornate, sharp, Art Deco, the 80's. I want to be eclectic....And bohemian/traveled...but I struggle with purchases and buy things that match. Sorry if this reads more like a dating bio than a design dilemma. Thanks in advance for any and all feedback. A: Try this to balance the space - in the carpeted LR use the blue and white sofas together. Pull the sofas away from walls and have them face each other, parrellel to the windows. Center sofas, with cofee table between, with the fireplace (i think that's a marble hearth?). In the hardwood area- face the loveseats perpendicular to each window with rug and table between.
