We are giving his bed to my other son who is moving into a rental house next month after getting his after-college job. My husband wants to install a murphy bed in my Navy son's room so that he has a bed when he does come home, and also it would serve as a nice guest space. I don't do this very much, but I do make quilts every so often, so having that space would be helpful for me. When I'm done, I store everything away, so I don't need a permanently set-up quilting space. I don't know anything about murphy beds. In the past when we've remodeled the kitchen and bathrooms we have hired a local custom cabinet builder. Is it like that for murphy beds? Or do I go to a local closet-systems type of place? I don't want to self-install. The reason I'm also posting in Kitchens is because you guys know a lot about cabinets, hinges, and construction and I see murphy beds as a type of huge cabinet. I’ve been 7 years working at Expand Furniture. **Q: I have a very large Foyer and Im not quite sure how to decorate it.** *(in Design Dilemma)* I have this very large foyer and Im not sure how to decorate it / fill the space. My house was built back in 1906 so I need a rug to protect my 100 year old floors, but the room is 9 x 9 so Im having trouble finding the appropriate rug size. We are trying to figure out the best wall color to go with accessories of brown, green, orange, red and white. We originally wanted navy but now I'm not so sure. We do want a darker color. We plan to add wainscoting around, new stone fireplace with new molding and new light fixture. table is staying and so are the chairs for now. But maybe some fabric chairs someday or slip cover them for now. Also need a rug. For paint thinking light warm gray. What should I do to the walls next to the fireplace and the opposite wall? Built ins? Long buffet? I like a transitional style but also like other styles like craftsmen and a touch of modern. I would love any suggestions you may have!!
