When our founders, brothers Scott and Rob McAdam, launched operations in 1979, they operated out of their childhood home in River Forest.

They have long since moved out and become a perennial standout as one of the region’s most respected names in landscaping. Amid an increasingly crowded and competitive industry, the company has diversified its services.

With the creation of the Nursery & Garden Center in 2003, McAdam has moved beyond maintenance and design/installation and into other specialties such as landscape lighting and water features.

We are committed to being responsible stewards of our environment. For example, we were one of the first companies in the area to install LiveRoof. In addition, we manufacture our own compost and the majority of our current paver installations include permeable bases.

> Once again the design and installation expertise of McAdam came through at the highest level. This project was an update of the original design McAdam did of my garden 20 years ago. > The team at McAdam pulled out some ivy in front of my house and replaced it with sod.  They did a phenomenal job.  The crew got to my home early (it was going to be a hot day) and they jumped right in.  The ground was very uneven from where a tree stump had been removed and now everything looks great.  In addition, the crew carefully worked around a rose bush on the corner of the lot that I wanted to preserve.  A+ work. Other companies gave us bids a tad lower to do the job, but I doubt the work would have been done as professionally or as well.

> I'm a resident in a 12 townhome "U"-shaped community with a courtyard and two "wing yards" stretching along the public sidewalk. Our landscaping at the beginning of the year (2016) consisted of 15 full grown trees, some shrubs, and struggling ground cover with a great deal of bare areas. The 30-foot trees dominated the landscape, inhibiting plant variety for lack of sunlight. Additionally, when it rained we experienced soil erosion spreading mud over the public sidewalk and courtyard walkway when it rained. This spring we (the townhome owners) decided to contact McAdam Landscaping for a remedy. Our contact person was Scott McAdam who presented us an elegant design. It called for the removal of all but two of the trees, arranging to have Davis Tree Care to handle that aspect (which they did very professionally), and the substitution of six ornamental trees and a wonderful variety of shrubs, conifers, perennials and ground cover laid out in a flowing, very aesthically-pleasing arrangement. The graphic plan placed little demand on us to envision what it would look like in the end. Scott worked with us to make a few minor adjustments that reduced the cost appreciably without departing from the overall design, displaying patience as we worked through the cumbersome internal process of deliberation, approval and payment collection.  The plan was approved by the owners of all 12 townhomes at the very end of August and the job was completed in September.

The use of native plants addresses our need for a low maintenance, high impact green space pleasing to the eye, and increasing our property value & appearance." Another neighbor added: "I also really appreciate his \[Scott McAdam's\] attention to color in all seasons. I loved how the bushes and trees turned this fall, and look forward to seeing the colors in the other seasons as well."

A: The fountain was installed before we began service on this property, but we can research through the previous homeowner to see if we are able to find additional information.  We performed maintenance and installation services for this home, but unfortunately did not install the fountain.  We will reply if we are able to track down the initial designer/installer.
