> Angela at Minglewood is a rock star. She not only knows her plants and plantings but she truly cares about her work and performs at the highest level. She has become a friend during this process and her efforts made our project even more special. I would provide my highest recommendation to anyone looking to work with Angela and Minglewood, LLC.

**★★★★★ — Rosemarie Eldridge Meissner, Nov. 2025**

> The Town of Ashburnham Recreation Committee retained Minglewood to assist with the creation of a new downtown multigenerational play and gathering park. From conceptual design to landscape/build coordination to project completion, Angela was an integral and invaluable team member. She introduced unique design elements not typically seen in rural municipal parks with the goal of increasing program collaboration and social interaction between all ages. Thank you!

> I’ve never written a negative review before, but I felt compelled to do so after working with this contractor.
>
> Two years ago, Angela installed a bluestone patio, deck, and garden at our home in Sudbury. After just two winters, the bluestone patio is already crumbling—half the stones are deteriorating to the point where the surface is unusable. We never used salt or a metal shovel on it. We reached out to Angela, and her response was, “I’ve never seen that before. Unfortunately, there is no warranty on the stone, so the best I can do is suggest you buy more stone.” That’s it. No responsibility, no solution—just a ruined patio after less than two years, despite a significant investment.
>
> There were other serious issues during the project. While preparing the site, her crew tore up our sprinkler system. They then planted the garden over it and insisted the sprinklers were in a different area. When we turned on the system, nothing worked. We brought in a sprinkler company, who confirmed the lines had been destroyed. They had to dig up the new garden to cap the damaged system, which cost a fortune. We also had to replant the garden ourselves, and many of the original plants didn’t survive due to the disruption.
>
> When we asked Angela about it, she blamed the sprinkler company and said they weren’t “thoughtful people.”
>
> Unfortunately, I cannot recommend working with this contractor. I strongly suggest finding someone more professional and accountable.

**Comment from Minglewood, LLC:**

> Hi Lindsay and Marco,
> I’m truly sorry to hear that you are disappointed with your patio two years after the installation. From our close collaboration throughout the months of design, permitting, and installation, you know that I care deeply about both the quality of my work and the satisfaction of my clients. Seeing your concerns shared publicly, rather than through a personal message, is especially disheartening given the communication we’ve maintained over time.
>
> I want to clarify that I believe my initial responses were misquoted. The bluestone used for your patio is a natural material sourced from a trusted supplier. Occasionally, the surface of individual stones may “flake” due to how the stone naturally forms in the earth—this is an inherent characteristic of natural-cleft bluestone, which we discussed during the selection and purchase process. These minor layer separations are not related to installation or site conditions and your patio continues to function as intended (I have photos available for reference). At the time of purchase, I explained that natural stone does not carry a manufacturer warranty.
>
> When you first reached out about the issue, we reviewed the available options. I offered to inspect the affected stones and assist with their replacement at a fair cost, noting that any new stones might differ in color because they come from a different quarry extraction. I did not hear back from you. As of October 2025, your patio continues to look and perform like a New England, natural-stone surface - leaf-covered and all!
>
> This was a complex project, situated within a Wetland Buffer Zone, above and near the septic system, and involving house modifications and a deck landing on the patio. I took extra care to ensure everything met the highest standards, complied with Town requirements, and would be long-lasting. Both Minglewood, LLC and the independent contractors provided materials at cost and volunteered additional labor to deliver a lasting result within your budget. While the sprinkler system was outside the scope of our work, we followed standard protocols to protect unseen items in the project area. Obviously, no one wants sprinkler heads in or under their patio!
>
> I truly regret that the project did not fully meet your expectations. My goal has always been to create spaces that are both beautiful and enduring, and I sincerely wish you all the best as you continue to enjoy your home and garden. Warm regards, Angela Kearney, Owner

> We have collaborated with Angela and her team on many challenging long-term projects in Weston and are always impressed with her level of detail and completeness. The projects have texture and expertly balance natural with cultivated. She preserves and enhances the character of each site, sculpting desired existing features and supplementing them with timeless and appropriate additions. Buyers are pleasantly surprised each season as they see new embellishments and blooms that weren’t visible when they purchased. From planning and permitting to on-site management, Angela seamlessly integrates with our team at all phases and makes our job easier at every turn.

> Having worked as an attorney for many development teams in Weston, I can state that Angela (Sensitive Information Hidden), Minglewood LLC, has been a valuable member of various development teams. Landscape design and development is a priority focus in the permitting process. Minglewood’s landscape designs are not only aesthetically pleasing, but also site sensitive. Angela Kearney works closely and collaborates with all members of the development team as the landscape design must incorporate screening and minimize the effects of grading, water runoff and wetland requirements. A proper landscape design addressing site issues is essential for the permitting process. Because of my firsthand knowledge of Angela (Sensitive Information Hidden)'s participation, collaboration and management of development teams, I have recommended Minglewood LLC to clients and will continue to do so.

> I have known Angelia for close to twenty years after she
> designed the landscape for our home in Concord, MA. She
> was a delight to work with and offered several possible designs
> for our property to get us focused. The gardens and hardscape
> continue to be admired by friends and the viewers of two local garden
> tours. I was delighted that she agreed to be on the Landscape Advisory Committee for the Concord Free Public Library.

**★★★★★ — Xulong Wang, Oct. 2024**

> Angela is a top-tier landscaping designer and a top-top-tier wetland management specialist. Long story short, I was new to the area and got into some troubles with the local wetland regulations. Looking back, the best decision made at that point was hiring Angela representing me going through the process. The final result can not be better.

> If you are searching for a landscape architect or designer who is knowledgeable, creative, responsive, and full of integrity then look no further! Angela has been a beacon of light for my family and me in a complex and quite challenging development project. When I am ready to bang my head against the wall (yet again), she has consistently stepped in and restored my faith in the project (and in people). She has continually gone above and beyond what we originally brought her on board to do. Her skill set is vast and seemingly never-ending. It feels incredibly reassuring to know that she takes her job extremely seriously. She always returns calls and emails promptly. She is both creative AND organized. She always shows up on time. She is not only outstanding in the field of landscape design, but she is also excellent at navigating what are often daunting regulatory and governmental processes. She is diplomatic, often helping to bridge differences among development team members. She is both a consummate professional... and a great person. So in short, I am incredibly grateful for all that Angela has done for our family!

**★★★★★ — HU-276054300, July 2023**

> Angela was phenomenal to work with on our new patio in Sudbury. She is extremely knowledgeable about conservation rules/regulations and helped to guide us through every step of a complicated process involving a septic tank and wetlands. She understood our vision and worked with us for over a year to make it happen! The process was so smooth for us given that we trusted her completely and she was an excellent communicator. We are so grateful!

**★★★★★ — HU-455789009, June 2023**

> We have just finished an extensive backyard renovation with Minglewood. Angela and her team helped us transform an overgrown and underutilized foundation bed into a prime, outdoor dining and living terrace. She helped us reuse existing materials to blend old and new spaces and she worked seamlessly with our installer, particularly when questions arose about complicated design details. She was respectful of our budget and cost conscious, careful to consult us and suggest alternative solutions when components came back higher than expected. She is a great communicator and answers emails and texts promptly. I enjoyed collaborating immensely and appreciated that she was eager to include me in plant selection, planning a trip to the nursery together. She respected our vision and goals and kept them at the center of her design. The resulting plant beds and stonework blend perfectly amongst the existing plantings and pre existing patio. Angela exceeded our expectations tenfold and we are beyond thrilled with the result. We look forward to working with Minglewood, LLC on our next project!

**★★★★★ — Dan Henderson, Aug. 2021**

> We really enjoyed working with Angela. She brought a thoughtful and creative flare for design, along with patience and curiosity about our goals, and the end result was a terrific design for our new backyard. She is very meticulous, organized, responsive, and great to work with, which seems rare among landscape designers these days! We highly recommend Angela and Minglewood!

**★★★★★ — Efe Yardimci, Dec. 2020**

> We have been working with Minglewood on successive updates to our house, starting from our pool area, to new decks and landscaping. Angela was very communicative, flexible, and was very transparent, all the way from design, construction and future planning. They've been great to work with.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Exterior Colours** *(in Photo Questions)*

What exterior colours did you use? Such a classic, beautiful look!
Thanks.

A: They are a mix of the Hardie siding colors - they are all classic and beautiful!

**Q: Such stunning color comb! May I have a list?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I love the flowers you used, I just moved and was looking at Hydrangea, lavender and daisies (that’s all I know by name, it’ll make it much easier 4 me to buy the rest if I knew all by name) I know the color is based on acidity, and that could change my idea, but they’re all beautiful! I like the greenish pink hydrangea tree that blooms at the end of the summer, have the name written somewhere. I’m newish to this. I’m in upstate NY, more specifically the Adirondacks. I have a shorter summer but rich, rich soil. But this being my first year will be the ultimate test, what works will work or doesn’t won’t! Haha. Thanks for your time and again, beautiful work!
Sincerely, LR

A: Thank you. Tree hydrangea in the back, pink roses (I think), oxeye daisy, catmint, and low hydrangea. I don't have more specifics off the top of my head as we did this one several years ago. Good luck and thanks again.

**Q: I heave a question about limelight hydrangea** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hello, I would like to know if I can grow limelight hydrangea in southern California? I was in Napa valley last summer and I saw limelight hydrangea in a couple of their home gardens there, during summer was very hot there. I wonder if Napa valleys weather it is the same as Southern California?
Thank you
Isabella

A: Hello. I imagine it will. You'll want to look up the zone map for the plant to see how it grows in your zone. You can also check with your local garden center.

**Q: What colors were used?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Hello. The siding is Hardie siding - https://www.jameshardie.com/color-and-design/explore-house-siding-colors. I believe this house is Cobble Stone or Pearl Gray.

**Q: Can I get a sample of the distressed ship lap gray and white** *(in Product Questions)*

A: Hi, I would love a sample of the gray and white ship lap siding as well as the rustic grey. Please mail to Minglewood, Ashburnham, MA 01430. Thank you!

**Q: Window Dimensions** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love this window! Can you share the dimensions if you have them? Thank you.

A: Thank you for responding to all the questions and sharing your details. Beautiful work!!
