**★★★★★ — HU-37861938, June 2021**

> Scott and Veronika took over an existing master bathroom renovation left incomplete by the previous contractor after they walked away following ongoing deficiencies and poor workmanship. We couldn’t be happier with the professionalism and quality of The Design Den team. We were referred to them by our plumber friend and couldn’t be happier with the end result. From start to finish the entire crew and all the sub-contractors relieved all the stress and difficulties left behind by the previous contractor. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend The Design Den on any project. Top marks!!

**★★★★★ — G Melville, June 2019**

> Scott and Veronika transformed a dark and unwelcoming 1959 basement into a beautiful, bright, functional space - it is truly unbelievable to compare the before and after pictures and no exaggeration to say that we've doubled our livable space. Veronika listened carefully to all of our wishes and requirements and walked us through every decision with patience and resourcefulness - she has a terrific eye for design, but does not impose her aesthetic on the client and is very practical in her suggestions. We appreciated her ability to narrow down the choices to a manageable number, within our budget, and steer us to the right decisions when we needed guidance. What I am most impressed by is the very high quality of finishing throughout the project - every detail was taken care of and Scott has exacting standards both for external suppliers and his own team. Speaking of the team, everyone who worked on our home was extremely personable, professional, and trustworthy. There were lots of unexpected challenges along the way, but the Design Den powered through and sustained their enthusiasm for our project until the very end. We are truly delighted with our new space.

**★★★★★ — Kate W, April 2018**

> Scott and Veronika initially completed one bathrooms for us, as well as a full interior re-paint. From initial quote to completion, they were professional and treated us and our home with nothing but respect. Scott worked with us to figure out the scope of the job and finalize the quote. Veronika worked with us extensively to figure out how to transform the space according to our needs and preferences, with lots of samples, guidance and patience along the way. Scott managed the project, ensuring our home was kept as clean as possible, that the work was completed to the highest standard, that the tradespeople were of the highest calibre, and kept us informed about every step along the way. No question was ever considered "silly" and it was a pleasure having them in our home. Following the completion of the first bathroom, we hired them to complete the second one since we were so happy. The final result is that we are absolutely delighted with our gorgeous new bathrooms and bright new space. We have no hesitation recommending them to anyone, and would absolutely hire them again!

**★★★★★ — Northshore Windows Ltd, March 2018**

> I have worked with The Design Den on a number of projects, supplying and installing windows and doors. Veronika and Scott are both excellent at communicating their clients needs, and have high expectations for all of their projects. It's a pleasure to work with a fellow North Shore business that takes pride in the work they do, and strives to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. I look forward to working with them on many future projects.

> Scott, Veronika and Shane were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. They transformed an almost uninhabitable condo into the home of my dreams. Scott oversaw every aspect of the project from coordinating the trades to helping me decide on a light bulb with the right balance of warmth and brightness. Scott's experience with older buildings prepared me for potential obstacles that might surface, which of course they did. Scott's team worked hard to finish on-time, and he always reminded me of my budget when I started to go off-track. Veronika helped me with design decisions when I couldn't make up my mind. I absolutely love my apartment and I would hire them again in a heartbeat,

> "We couldn't recommend Design Den (Scott & Veronika) more highly! They transformed our kitchen into a 'dream space' and were so great to work with. We had the usual reno 'blips' but any problems or concerns were dealt with immediately and the end product shows the excellent design and workmanship. Can't wait to talk my husband into 'renewing' the bathrooms!"

**★★★★★ — L G, Dec. 2016**

> 5 start all the way! They did two of our bathrooms - very nicely done, great crew and awesome to work with!

**★★★★★ — B C, July 2015**

> What can we say? When you need a team that fully understands both the practical aspects of construction and all the possibilities of creative design, The Design Den should be \#1 on your list! After dealing with the heartbreak of a major water leak in the master bath of our 8 year old house, Scott and Veronika rescued us. Knowing that we will not have to deal with leaks again (Scott uses the Schluter system) has been a great comfort. Veronika listened to our general desires about design and came up with fabulous ideas that made our bathroom drop-dead gorgeous! We couldn't be happier. They are the best.

**★★★★★ — Reynolds Cabinet Shop Ltd., Dec. 2014**

> We've worked in conjunction with Scott and Veronica at the Design Den for a number of years and have nothing but positive results. We're often recommending the team at the Design Den to our clients looking for a design/build firm. Most importantly we recommend them for their attention to detail, excellent service, and high degree of accurate communication...so important in this type of business.
>
> Design Den's ability to provide top notch design expertise and true renovation and construction know-how is second-to-none in the industry and we look forward to working with them on many projects to come!

**★★★★★ — Koziel Tile & Mosaic Works, Nov. 2014**

> I am the owner of Koziel Tile & Mosaic Works. I had the pleasure of providing tile service for The Design Den on a home renovation project in North Vancouver. Scott from Design Den is a professional contactor, who pays attention to detail and provides quality product for his clients. He is easy to work with and I am sure he tries his best to stay on budget and on time for his customers. I look forward to the next tile project with Design Den.

> We first worked with Scott and Veronika when we needed finishing work done on a recent renovation project. After being extremely pleased with their excellent attention to detail and amazing professionalism, we had them do a major bathroom renovation that included electrical work, plumbing, tiling, installation of new cabinetry, painting, drywalling, etc. We again were thrilled with the results and so impressed with their conscientious and diligent work ethic. A pleasure to work with, we look forward to working with The Design Den Homes team again on future projects in our home.

> My husband and I are thrilled we hired Scott and Veronika to makeover our main floor kitchen, dining room, living room, entry and family bathroom. It was a large project, with the usual surprises but it was the least stressful renovation we have ever done. From concept to completion the entire crew was a joy to work with. The Design Den took our awkward old kitchen and turned it into a beautiful and functional space. We would highly recomend The Design Den !

- [Noons Creek 2](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/noons-creek-2-pj-vj~6177136)
  - Location: Port Moody, BC
  - Photos: 7
  - Description: This townhouse project was for a fun, hip, techy family who needed more space to spread out on their main level. By removing a wall, and widening entries, we were able to re-arrange the kitchen to allow for a fantastic open feeling, with all sorts of hidden nooks and crannies to quickly tuck away their electronics.
- [Robinson](https://www.houzz.com/hznb/projects/robinson-pj-vj~6176328)
  - Location: North Vancouver, BC

  - Description: The goal of this project was to open up the kitchen to the main living area, along with re-designing the layout of the bottom level to allow for flexible function. The clients gravitated towards Scandinavian/mid-century design, therefore we unified the home with a totally new aesthetic throughout. A notable feature of this new space is the cook top in front of the window. We did not want to lose the light of the window, nor have the cook top in the island, therefore integrated a heat resistant g…

  - Description: After a few years in the home, and two growing children, these clients wanted to make some key changes to reflect their style, and functional needs. The kitchen lacked storage and function, while the dining space was too cramped. By modifying some structure, and moving the staircase over, we were able to increase the usable space in the kitchen, and increase the size of the dining space. By adding a ton of custom built ins for storage, along with updating the fireplace, furniture and decor, this…

  - Description: This is not your ordinary kids bathroom renovation! This client was clear on the style direction, and the required attention to detail some of the design details required. Some of the notable features in this space include a mid-century dresser we turned into a vanity, a hidden medicine cabinet, wall mounted faucets, and the amazing tile work! For those into details, one can appreciate the amount of consideration, and precision required throughout the project to account for the perfect tile layo…

  - Description: This was a fun journey! The first phase of this renovation started with the previous owners whom we transformed their basement, kids bathroom and general living spaces for. The new owners loved the new direction of the renovated spaces, and the potential of what the kitchen/main living space could be, so they hired us to complete the transformation. The kitchen went from being segregated, and oddly laid out, to being open, bright, and super inviting. Wood windows are not common, however when the…

  - Description: This grandma was needing space to roll out cookies! ...and have two ovens to accommodate her baking requirements. So, our goal was to create a highly efficient space, all about storage, high functionality, counter space, wrapped together with a modern country charm. A classic and timeless kitchen which has inspired many of our clients.

  - Description: The clients reached out to us to see if we could make better use of their 1960s basement they basically used as a catch-all. With much consideration, planning, and re-designing, we transformed how their entire house functions ultimately, nearly doubling the usable space of their home. We moved the master downstairs, where we created a master suite, with a large walk-in shower and then we moved windows and doors to allow for a better functioning laundry space, and added an organized sport storage…

  - Description: The impact of opening up a space, and re configuring a layout, never ceases to amaze us. Despite the limitation of the narrow width of the room, we still managed to satisfy the needs of having a seat-at island for casual family meals, and increased storage...while making it look beautiful of course!

  - Description: The kitchen in this adorable bungalow, was just needing a bit of attention in order to open itself up to the magnificent view just on the other side of the wall. The new kitchen unites the traditional feel of the home with a bright fresh approach. The custom cabinets in this well considered kitchen have several custom features such as a puppy pantry, appliance garage, and a must-have garden window, all of which make this space perfectly suited to the client.

  - Description: Laundry rooms usually sneak under the radar when it comes to renovations, however done right, they can truly become one of the most utilized, and loved rooms in the house. In this transformation, we hid the not so pretty, created large hidden storage, while making the things we can't hide have a home and look pretty.

  - Description: This well loved home had lots of personality, and charm, but it was time for the kitchen to be brought up to the same caliber as the rest of the home. Although the general layout stayed the same, the custom cabinet design highly improved the efficiency, storage, and usability of the space. Cutting back a few shorter walls, and removing bulkheads gave huge impact to opening up the space. Details such as full height cabinets, pantry storage around the stairs, and drawers under the bench seat, help…

  - Description: Small spaces have equally the amount of potential as a large space, however every decision needs to be very considered and thought out, to ensure you fulfill all the requirements in the parameters of the space. This condo felt dark, uninviting, and poorly functioning. We revisited how the clients were going to be using the space, and challenged every element to ensure it was worthy of taking up valuable space. Because this condo was a secondary space for this down-sizing couple, and they weren't…

  - Description: The needs of these clients was to make a bigger, better functioning space that was more inviting to their beautiful outdoor entertaining space. By moving the door in to the center of the kitchen, and relocating windows, we were able to create a highly functional layout. The access to the outdoor deck space became a lovely focal point. The rest of the upstairs saw key upgrades to thermal components eliminating the cool winter drafts. Updated bathrooms, built in cabinetry, new fireplace, flooring…

  - Description: The stage was set to create the bathroom of this clients dreams! With some mindful decisions we were able to transform this huge bathroom from being dark and tiered, to bright and beautiful. The existing vanity wasn't far off what we would have pictured for the space, we therefore gave it new life with having it re-finished and new quartz counters installed. Saving unnecessary costs, and landfill space is always a huge bonus! This en-suite, now houses every luxurious feature you could ever want.

  - Description: Sometimes you need to review how the entire house is being used in order to make the best suggestions for the areas that are seemingly the problem or unrelated. There were areas that were very crammed for space, and other spaces that were under utilized. By redesigning how all the spaces throughout the house are used, we were able to design a lower level that made the whole house function much more effectively. The use of budget friendly materials did not force any compromise on style and qualit…

  - Description: The bathrooms in this wonderful craftsman style home were in need of a face lift. The goal was to reflect the style direction the rest of the home had taken, while remaining practical, and classic. Although we wanted very similar bathrooms, we didn't want them to be identical, so we played around with the finishes, and applied them on different elements in the spaces. Because the en-suite is a two piece, we carried through the beautiful hardwood from the bedroom for a seamless look, that adds a…

The home owners contacted us to help remediate the issues and create the spa like bathroom of their dreams. Despite the quirky, random additions and years of DIY random renos the previous homeowners had implemented in the kitchen, the new homeowners saw a glimpse of potential when considering purchasing the home.
