**Q: Print** *(in Photo Questions)*

**Q: Keep the Parque Flooring or replace with planks?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I'm up in the air whether to keep the parquet flooring in the foyer and replace with plans like the rest of the house. We are refinishing all of our floors and will be staining them 50/50, dark walnut/provincial. Originally I was going to pull them up and run planks to be more cohesive with the rest of the space. There would still be a border around the foyer which works in my opinion, but what are your recommendations? Keep the parquet or go with planks? I think most grooves would sand out when sanded down. House built in 1994. Sorry for the not so great photo.

A: Another reason not to change the floor is that from what you are saying, you'd want the planks running in the same direction as the adjacent room, and it's not as visually pleasing to have planks running side to side instead of long ways in an entry hall.

**Q: Kitchen Faucets** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am so confused!  We are in the middle of a kitchen remodel in an older home (50's with slight craftsman/farmhouse nuance). I will have leathered Quartzite (TajMahal) countertop with undermount stainless sink. My unfinished cabinets with have SW Summer White translucent Stain and the walls will be painted SW Summer White.  I will have brushed stainless knobs and cup pulls for cabinet hardware. 
I prefer two handle faucets but I cannot decide whether they should be raised bridge faucet  or if a wall mount faucet would look better. I have never had either one so what are the cons and pros of both?  
First pic is of the sink area with an old sink and plywood counter we are temporarily using and the other pic is of the bar on other side of room made out of repurposed wood from a shed found on the property.
(Please excuse the mess but we had to move in early because our house sold!)
I have to make a decision by Friday for counter top to be prepared. Thanks so much for your replies.

**Q: mirror size??? and lights???** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We will have a 72"W, 35"H vanity and are getting a large mirror custom made (with mirrored bevel frame). 
What size should mirror be? 

And should I get one large light for above or two smaller one for each sink?

A: Trim it out with 1/2" thick wood that is 3 1/2" wide, and put sconces on the trim at eye level (64"-66") from floor.

**Q: Help!  Hate new kitchen remodel** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Our kitchen was just finished and it turned out way more modern than I had envisioned. It doesn't go with the furniture style which is a Shabby chic look at all. I had wanted an all white kitchen with white subway tile Backsplash. The contractor talked me into using white glass tiles which ended up looking blue/gray on the wall. So I had it ripped out. Now I was ready to get the white subway tiles when my husband said he hates the all white idea and really wanted some color. So we compromised on a marble that I just hate. It looks too busy and gray.
I really loved the large cabinet pulls but just feel the combination of everything looks too modern. Not to mention we put in matte plain black granite counters on the back and a very large black Blanco granite sink.
The island is white quartz counter with white shaker cabinets.
To try to soften the look I put up mini Crystal chandelier pendants but not sure those work although I cannot return them since the chain was cut.
Ugh I feel sick after spending all this money!
The fridge will arrive on Saturday and is stainless French door.
Walls are very light soft gray
Any ideas on how to soften this look or make it go better with my Shabby chic style would be so helpful! Thank you. 
We still need to pick window coverings and bar stools.  We have white wood shutters on the other windows of great room.

A: How are you doing over there?  Thought of you when this "Modern Shabby Chic" trend tag came across my inbox.  There's your chandelier and your main white element.  Once you add everyone's soft accessory suggestions (this company sells dining tables and a few decor items in your style), your kitchen will be a model!

**Q: Should I paint my kitchen cabinets the same as my trim?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

The trim throughout my house is BM - White Dove.  I really like it for the trim because it's a warm white, but not sure if i want my whole (small) kitchen to be that color since it's almost an off white.  Would it look bad if my kitchen was a different white than my trim...?

A: One reason not to mix whites is because when your cabinets touch or come near to your crown molding or door trim, the two whites up against each other would look off.  Either paint your cabinets a warm grey  or continue with White Dove.  Also 3000K LED lighting will brighten White Dove.
