My first impression when he came to look at our kitchen to hear about our remodeling ideas was that he wasn’t even going to do it. He looked around with a blank face that I thought meant “this is a dump, why would I bother?” However, what he was really doing was listening very closely and devising ideas on how to achieve what we wanted. He didn’t tell us “sorry, no, we can’t do that,” as others had. He figured out ways to do what we wanted done while coming in under our budget. He was also open to change orders that we added (like flooring in the living room and dining room and new GFIs) that brought ourselves over budget. > > The entire group that he put together was cordial, listened when we talked, answered our questions, gave us options. Everyone was helpful and flexible. Only once were we a bit disappointed because the people we waited for never showed up. We did find out that there had been a family emergency that took our project manager away. It would have been nice if they had told us this so that we weren’t waiting for someone to show up that wasn’t going to show up. That was really down in the noise. Mr. Egan stepped in himself to help so as to keep the project on time. As it was, it only ended one day later than originally planned. > > We didn’t really know what we wanted or what our options were as far as colors, counter types etc. The new designer, Holly, did an excellent job of coming up with great options. One was a three-pendant lamp for above the kitchen sink. I had in my head a barn light and almost insisted on it. But I pictured her idea and realized how much better it was. As it is, this light is one of our favorite touches. It sends a beautiful red glow throughout the kitchen at night.
