After several challenging home renovation experiences (and more than a few regrets), we decided it was time to do things correctly from the very start. When it was time to renovate our 1960’s finished basement, we reached out to Nancy for some help. We wanted to maximize the space, incorporate functional storage areas, and most of all, make it beautiful—something I feel basements are so often lacking. We started with a zoom consultation and we immediately knew that Nancy was the one we wanted to work with. The next step was a Design Work Session, where we first submitted our “inspiration” to her and then she came out to our home to discuss how we can bring it all to life. Both my husband, who was a bit apprehensive about hiring a designer at first, and I were blown away by how invaluable this session was. Nancy does such a wonderful job at putting you at ease and truly listening to what you want to accomplish in the space (while also giving you the added bonus of Design 101). She is so knowledgeable in her craft, very respectful of cost, and just a joy to work with! We have some unique challenges to contend with in our space, and she offered potential solutions that we would’ve never considered without her insight. It was immediately clear that we would’ve made some major mistakes had we done all of the planning ourselves. She is doing a 48" range and wants to do two 36" column fridge/freezers in the kitchen.... She originally thought she would put them on the wall with the range, but with the measurements, it would make next to 0 counterspace on either side of the range. Would you put them on either side of the dining room doorway, or I suggested maybe moving the dining room doorway to put them together on that wall. Any better suggestions?
