**Q: Need opinion on aluminum decking** *(in Other)*

Does anyone have any experience with aluminum decking that they could share the pros and cons with me? 

I need to replace my 25 year old wooden deck.   After several months of looking at a variety of wood and composite decking material, I am considering using an aluminum decking product... mainly because it would keep the area under the deck dry without the need to install an additional drainage system.  A drainage system is built into the product by the way its manufactured.  Plus the manufacturer says the aluminum deck would be very low maintenance over its lifetime.  

I'm also thinking of installing a cable railing system for a clearer view and a more modern look.

There are many photos of aluminum decking at this site http://www.lockdry.com/.

Since an aluminum deck is new to me and I have only seen pictures of it, here are some of my concerns:

•  what does it sounds like when walked on 
•  does it scratch 
•  would it look as good as using Ipe 
   (it costs the same, but I’d also need a drainage system with wood) 
•  which product would look better in 10 years, aluminum or wood
•  which product would enhance my house  
•  does it look modern

A: Regarding the railings you are considering. Have you ever heard od tempered glass aluminum railings? If not they might be something to consider.
