> We had a wonderful experience with Caroline! After our initial consultation Caroline was able to put together our whole color scheme and product recommendations. We loved everything she picked. We couldn't believe her attention to detail and how she really picked up on our style and everything we discussed was somehow incorporated in her choices for us. > I have had numerous discussions with Caroline regarding interior design work. She is always punctual and professional. She offers great ideas and clearly loves what she does. I have seen her think outside of the box to offer real and practical materials that other "typical" designer would not think about and it always turns out beautiful. I would recommend hiring her to anyone who wants a decorator who will listen to your needs and wants. She gives true customer service with NO EGO!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Help for Nursery room!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi All! We're trying to pick a paint color for a baby boy's
nursery. We put two on the wall (BM Wythe Blue and BM Palladian Blue).
The darker paint color is the BM Wythe Blue, which we eliminated almost
immediately. It just felt way too dark for a babies room. We have BM
Simply White trim around the windows/doors. We like the BM Palladian
Blue, but feel that it might be too much of a blue/green feel. We tend
to like a grayish blue color a little better. Any suggestions for a good blue/gray paint color to use in a nursery?
Thanks!

A: One of my favourite greyed-blues is Benjamin Moore's Nickel. It's not too light, not too dark! Please keep in mind you are painting on the darkest wall in your room right now. You should also test the paint on the wall directly opposite your window! Have fun painting your nursery!!! (and congratulations!!!)

**Q: My girlfriend has put her painting directly over her TV** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I got my girlfriend this great painting for Christmas, finally got it framed and now hung but I can't stand where she's placed it. I told her not to put it there as I think having two similar shaped objects like that directly above one another just looks horrible and I think the wall looks cluttered. Just looking for some opinions to validate my own haha. Thanks guys

A: I never like to get in the middle of a disagreement....but you're right. There will be better places for your art where it will not have to compete for attention and can be hung at a more appropriate height!

**Q: Something's missing, what to put over the piano?!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Our family is hugely into music, and have incorporated it into Christmas decor. Something is missing here over the piano and I've run out of creative juice. Any advice is much appreciated!

A: Thanks Darzy! :) Here's a quick visual showing what I am thinking of:

**Q: Would you put something over this bed?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Trying to work on our master bedroom and not sure if I should put something on top of bed. I'm also open to other suggestions for the room as far as furniture placement, walls, etc. Thanks! I'll post picture for a 360 degree view.

View 1 is entrance to bedroom. Yes, there is a dog bed on the floor with the dog!

A: The new arrangement CDR Design suggested is much better!!! :)
Now that you have the wall space to do so, I would hang one piece of art over each nightstand! Like this example, but art instead of mirrors:

**Q: Is this lamp too tall for this foyer table?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I know the pictures are dark, but if I turn the lamp on it distorts the photos too much. The table is 29" tall and 43" wide. The lamp is 31" tall. The foyer is 5' x 7'. Thanks much for your help!

A: I think people are sometimes overly concerned with what's being reflected. I personally wouldn't worry at all about it reflecting closet doors. Because of the patterned wall paper and rug (which work beautifully together) I would keep the mirror simple and choose a frame that blends with your wall paper. (Like the one I put in the vision board) Your other elements are bold and you don't want too much going on! That being said, I would like to take things a step further and recommend you paint the inside of your entry door! Black, or another accent colour of your choice would look amazing!!! :)

**Q: Take 2... Another attempt to complete my living room & Bedroom** *(in Design Dilemma)*

12 Months in and I still haven't embraced my red sofa. So this is my second attempt to secure some help before Christmas 2014. I've purchased a few items since my last post for help but if I can't come up with a solution then I will have to take a loss on the sofa and start over with a new couch. Thought, suggestions... any help is appreciated.

A: Hi Jennifer, You can buy a value finder at any art supply store!
