**★★★★★ — Harriott Valentine Engineers, Jan. 2019**

> Eric and his design team produce only the the highest quality work. We are thrilled to help support his architectural vision on every project they send our way. The level of care they put into every detail before, during and after the design phase paves the way for an amazing finished project. If you are in the market for a new home design or remodel that will be the envy of your neighbors, look no further than Eric's office.

**★★★★★ — Deco-Pour & Harvey Construction, Aug. 2015**

> We absolutely love working with this company!
> They are respectful clean and very easy to work with.
> We are very pleased to be able to have worked with you on projects, and look forward to more to come!

**★★★★★ — erichfin, July 2014**

> I worked with Eric at the start of a major home remodel, which has recently completed, to generate ideas that he then drafted and rendered. To say that I'm satisfied with the results is an understatement. If you have a modern and minimalistic design aesthetic, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him...he's definitely one of the best Seattle has to offer.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Columns** *(in Photo Questions)*

Impressive House. Those 2 columns look disproportional to me (buckling - height to diameter) as a compression member. Are they in tension, or for uplift, of the cantilever section?

A: good eye. first, these two columns are loaded in pure compression, with a very stiff floor diaphragm taking 100% of lateral loads back to steel brace frames embedded deeper in the house volume. then, these two columns were specified in a thick wall higher strength stainless steel tube, further reducing their required diameter.

**Q: Stair treads** *(in Photo Questions)*

Paul, are the stair treads the same as the counter top (perhaps siltstone?).

A: (Who's Paul?)
Yes- treads and countertop are both epoxy terrazzo.

**Q: Tile size please?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What size are these tiles?

A: Not tiles. Polished acrylic concrete mix with terrazzo strips.

**Q: Banister** *(in Photo Questions)*

I like the light aspect of the banister. Did you have to use security thick glass, or is the metallic frame strong enough to be the main farm?

A: Custom cast epoxy terrazzo, over steel tube. Matches kitchen island.

**Q: Island top** *(in Photo Questions)*

What stone is the top of the island? Thank you.

A: Not stone- it is epoxy terrazzo

**Q: Trees** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hi,
What kind of trees are those? Love the size and shape! Thanks!

A: Honey locust
