I was in the middle of updating my kitchen and I had a tile backsplash that I was trying to preserve in the process. Chris removed the laminate backsplash attached to the tile and replaced some tiles that had been cut around the microwave. His work was so precise! No tiles were damaged which was a huge concern as I only had 10 extra tiles to work with and 8 of those were going in as replacements for some partial tiles that had been cut around the microwave. The best repair job is one that does not look like a repair job and that is what Chris did for us. I believe the level of care Chris showed in tearing down my old walls, installing new insulation, putting up drywall and priming it all was the same level of care he would have shown to his own home. All I had to do was leave the room on a Monday morning and he moved my furniture and carpeting to a storage area, re-did the walls, cleaned up before he left each night and from time to time let my dogs out so I didn't have to come home from work. If I didn't see him some days he texted me his plans so I always knew what was going on. It was like family. Mattingly Construction handled nearly all aspects of the remodel, including demolition, extensive electrical, plumbing, and duct work, drywall, lighting, painting, installation of flooring and cabinetry, and finish work. Granite installation was the only part of the project that the company did not do. The level of craftsmenship is amazing. I was so impressed with the outcome (and the cost) that I had the company then remodel a first floor half-bath, with a superb result. Now this asymmetric white painted fireplace is the focal point of the room. Is there any way to update it? A: custom concrete panels make a very nice fireplace too. there are several finishes as well as colors to choose from. **Q: What is this paint color, please?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: Hello the paint color is a Porter Paint color called Tempered Steel \#508-4 that was mixed at a Sherwin Williams store hope this helps **Q: Grout gone wrong** *(in Design Dilemma)* How difficult is it to remove grout? Our contractor used the wrong grout when installing white subway tiles in our shower. He used the gray grout which was meant for the floor tiles instead of the white which was purchased for the subway tiles for the wall. Needless to say I'm not too pleased!! How difficult will it be to remove the grout....it was just installed yesterday. A: Grey grout does look nice , but you being the customer if your not happy then it needs to be fixed to your wants.
