It's adorable!! A: The light fixture is from Lamps Plus. **Q: Curtain Dilemma** *(in Design Dilemma)* I'm trying to decide what to do for curtains in our living room/kitchen. This door and window look out to a sunroom and are the only light sources in the room, so I don't want anything super heavy. The door is just the right side/panel and opens on the right. My main dilemma is do I put a rod over both the door and window or just the window? If I do it over both, does a panel (or more) hang between the two and block that section of wall completely? Is there enough room on the left side of the door for curtain panels to hang? The window has blinds for when we need privacy, so I'm not super worried about that (although the door does not). Mostly for decorating purposes. Thanks in advance for any advice! Sorry this photo isn't the best, I can take more if needed. Just used what I had on my phone already. A: Thanks for uploading a pic from a new angle. I recommend installing drapery on the window only. If you opt for decorative drapes instead of panels that close and completely cover the window, the fabric stack will be minimal and won't cover too much of the window. Installing drapery over french doors is doable when you have a lot of space on both sides of the trim and unfortunately there is not a lot of space on the right between the doors and window. You could install Roman shades on the doors in a fabric that coordinates with the drapery fabric for the window. The layout of your door and window is common and a dilemma that a lot of homeowners agonize over. **Q: Is Mirrored Tile Out of Style?** *(in Design Dilemma)* So, after much deliberation, I decided to tile a backsplash behind a 5' wine bar with antiqued 4" mirrored tiles with 2" black insets used randomly. This wine bar is in my kitchen across from most other cabinetry which has stone tile for the backsplash. I wanted to add a little glam and lighten up the space a bit with the mirrored tile. I called my local tile shop to see if they had anything like this on display, and the owner said with disdain in her voice that she had not seen mirrored tile in years! I value your advice and comments, so is mirrored tile really out of style? A: Kaye, If you're passionate about wanting mirrored tile in your home, go for it. It can be the eye catching element in your design that pulls the entire look together. It is not a material that is frequently specified for back splashes so that is why the showroom owner probably said she hadn't seen it in years. Most home owners opt for safe choices when selecting tile. Congratulations for seeking a tile that is unique and stylish. A: Try a table that is 36"-42". In lieu of a table you can also place an accent chair in a distinctive fabric. **Q: Window treatment solution for one window and one door** *(in Design Dilemma)* Trying to help a client. One window on one side of the fireplace and door on the other. Should we only do curtains around the window, or window and door to make it symmetrical? A: I wouldn't put drapes around the door because there is not enough wall space on either side of the door. I recommend a valance or cornice for the window and a Roman shade in coordinating fabric on the door. **Q: sewing room cabinets 30" h x 24 wide** *(in Design Dilemma)* need wooden cabinets with soft close 3 drawer cabinets that are not more than 30" height A: It will be difficult to find a cabinet that is not custom that is only 30" high.
