> Charissa helped me refurbish the inside of my home from painting walls, changing floor materials, upgrading light fixtures to purchasing furniture and accessories.
>
> Charissa has a great personality, very knowledgeable about color/styles and coordinating everything to get the desired look.
>
> Everyone that comes to my home say's it looks like something from a magazine. I am very proud of my home; thanks to Charissa.

> Charissa's keen eye, enthusiasm, design knowledge, and sweet personality are just a few of the reasons we loved working with her on our project! She was a HUGE help to us in planning the interior of our new home. Without her assistance, we would have made several costly mistakes (furniture that didn't fit in the room properly, etc.)! Using design computer software, she provided us with virtual 3D mockups to help figure out the best furniture layout for an oddly situated room. Additionally, her insight and suggetions about window treatments, lighting fixtures, furniture selection, upholstery options, and accessory placement were truly invaluable!
>
> She listened to us carefully to get a good feel for our design style... which we (frankly) weren't even sure about ourselves until she helped guide us through it and asked lots of questions. She was encouraging with our ideas but wasn't afraid to speak up when her designer's eye knew to go in a different direction. It was a true collaboration, and we LOVE the end results! We will most definitely be asking for Charissa's help for other projects in the future!

> Charissa was instrumental in helping me choose carpet, wood, floor tile, kitchen tile, shower tile, interior and exterior paint colors, etc. for our new home. I met with her numerous times asking her opinion and she was always professional and very helpful. I always left feeling good about my selections. I will use her services again to decorate my home. I highly recommend Charissa.

> Besides top customer service, Charissa gave us several ideas on arranging our living room and artwork throughout the house. She picked up on many subtle angles, etc that really enhanced the layout of the house.

**Comment from INTERIORS by Charissa LLC:**

> Thanks so much! That was after we staged your old house to get it sold in record time! :-)

> Charissa did a fabulous job in our house. We couldn’t been happier with the results. We moved from Missouri leaving our house for sale, after a few months the house was not selling, we called Charissa to see if she could take project of remodeling/fixing the house. We worked with her from out of the state and it was like having her in the same town, she keep us on the loop of the remodelation, sending us pictures, progress on the budget etc. She took care of everything for us and one less worry for us. She is really professional and passionate of what she does and that can never be wrong. She was able to work with the budget we set. After the remodelations were made we decided to rent the house to a friend that lost his house in the tornado and right after he and his family moved out of the house, the house was back in the market. It took only two persons to take a look at the house and we were able to sell it in a month. We are so thankful for the work that Charrisa did in our house.

**Comment from INTERIORS by Charissa LLC:**

> Thanks for the recommendation! I've actually been wondering about you guys and am so happy to know that your house has sold! I was going to follow up with you for an update and now I don't have to. :-) Thanks again!

> We have called upon Charissa to help us with several projects at our home. Each and every project has exceeded our expectations. She is very kind and patient. She has an eye for what will work long before we did, but waited until we could also see it. She worked hard to help keep us within or below our allotted budget. Whenever we have another home project Charissa is the only one will we will call upon. She is truly one of the best professionals in her field. She is deleightful to work with and feels like family.

**Comment from INTERIORS by Charissa LLC:**

> Thank you so very much, Larry! I've enjoyed helping you with your projects and look forward to the next one! :-)

> Charissa is very resourceful and made it fun to shop with. Meeting her the first time was pleasant and comfortable! She was everything I needed right down to the last detail. She always responded to my calls in a timely manner, loved her bubbly personality. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

**Comment from INTERIORS by Charissa LLC:**

> It was such a privilege to help you pick out materials and finishes for your new house. I love the paint colors, lighting, window treatments, etc. that we picked together and you have accessorized your home beautifully! One of the many things I love about my job is the friendships that are formed throughout this whole process. You are a sweetheart and I'm so happy to see you settled into your new home. :-)

> Charissa has done a wonderful job at working with my home sellers to get their houses in the best condition to sell.
> Her ideas are affordable and functional.
> My clients have been very happy with her staging assistance and some of them have told me they would like to use her to help with their new homes.

**Comment from INTERIORS by Charissa LLC:**

> Jo, I have so enjoyed partnering you in getting your client's homes sold quickly! :-) Kudos to you for recognizing the importance of home staging.

**★★★★★ — sunday487, June 2012**

> Charissa assisted me with our new home. She bridged the gap between my husband's style and mine. Our home is being built after the 2011 tornado and needed everything. Charissa made our consultations pleasant fun. She assisted with the lighting, paint, carpets, tile, and counters. She gave suggestions to make the other areas where I needed to decorate much easier. We are very pleased with our experiences with Charissa! M

**Comment from INTERIORS by Charissa LLC:**

> Thanks so much, M! I hope we'll be able to take a better picture very soon! You have a lovely home. :-)

**★★★★★ — dfishocc, June 2012**

> Charissa goes the second mile to provide her clients with satisfaction. If she is guilty of anything, it is of working TOO HARD to satisfy her clients. You will get your money's worth with any project she does for you! She designed a ceramic tile backsplash to accompany new granite countertops (of which she was also very much involved in helping us select) in our 30-year old kitchen.
>
> I recommend her wholeheartedly.

**Comment from INTERIORS by Charissa LLC:**

> Thank you so much! I enjoyed helping you update your kitchen and was quite pleased with the results. :-)

## Community Q&A

**Q: Resilient vinyl plank flooring** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Has anyone had any experience using the resilient vinyl plank flooring Home Depot sells?

Because it is durable and inexpensive, we are considering using it throughout our cottage (which is winterized but used more often in the summer). Through the two bedrooms, hallway, great room and kitchen. (Bathroom floor is tiled.) Friends down the road have it in their dining room and it looks good.

Our original plan was to do hardwood through the bedrooms, hallway and great room with tile in the kitchen. However, this summer we had a lot of people up and noticed how much sand, etc was tracked inside from the beach and water. Not to mention any kind of accident you could imagine little kids doing. :) So we thought the resilient might be a better choice!

I don't want to use laminate because I hate the clicking sound it makes when one walks on it.

Please share with me your thoughts!

A: I've sold quite a bit of the Earthwerks and would recommend it. The luxury vinyl plank flooring is a great choice!

**Q: Kitchen update dilemma** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We are updating our kitchen and would appreciate some collective advice.

We continue to design out the country-style of our 1984 home to a more contemporary look and feel. For this kitchen update we will be:
1\) painting the cabinets, and potentially updating hardware (color is Benjamin Moore http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-color/herbalescape)
2\) removing the dual mode backsplash and replacing with a single type of tile,
3\) adding under cabinet lighting
4\) painting the walls (color TBD)
5\) painting the crown moulding ~white

Attached photos include pictures of kitchen, counter top and backsplash, close up of granite ( for color), current choice and example of painted cabinet, and tentative backsplash tile.

Please help on potential tile options, color for walls and moulding, edits to cabinet hardware or color. Thanks!

A: The granite looks like Verde Butterfly maybe? If so, this accent tile is absolutely beautiful with it and would provide you with alot of paint color options. I've mixed it with 4x4 tumbled travertine and used the linear mosaic as a liner and made 2x2 dots out of the 5/8 x 5/8 mosaic.

**Q: Houzz Inspired Half Bath Redo** *(in Design Dilemma)*

You know the story...1985 pink half bath....blue wall paper under that....right on the unprepared drywall.

Today, Venetian Plaster inspired theme....all done ourselves. Thanks Houzz!

A: Nice job! Looks really good. You should be proud! :-)

**Q: Need help with new furniture** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We're inheriting this furniture, minus the rug. It's the only living room furniture we have. How can I make our living room warm and pretty with it? btw the pictures are not our house.

A: These are great furniture pieces to have inherited! But we do need more information to guide you better. I do believe your furniture placement will be important, no matter what the space.

**Q: Would this rug and chair work together or would it be too busy.** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I have black sofas and I love the striped chairs and the rug separately but am unsure if I love them together.

A: I didn't really mind the one you had picked out, but I've always LOVED that green chair! Definitely more of a statement piece and no need to add a green pillow. :-)

**Q: How should we furnish and decorate this room?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I have a small room (8' x 9') off of my front foyer. It has a small coat closet for guests along one wall, a large window facing the front of the home, and the other 2 walls are bare.
We have a separate mudroom, so no need for that, and an office space is not really needed. The only idea I had was to create a room for sitting/reading? I don't know where to start, any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks!

A: I'm leaning towards the trim, but wood would be nice too. It depends what kind of look you are going for. Search for "home library" or "reading nook" on houzz to see what moves you.
