**★★★★★ — Wendy, Nov. 2022**

> Viviane has a vast amount of experience and really listened and understood what I was looking for. I am so grateful for her ability to keep me focused on my end goal as I have a tendency to like everything and they do not always go together. I love the end results for my bathrooms, they are classic and timeless. I would highly recommend Viviane for any design work! It was a real pleasure working with Viviane and her patience with my puppies energy :)

> It was a pleasure working with Viviane on our renovation project. She really knows her stuff, has an eye for detail and helped us by navigating us through the sometimes overwhelming process of choosing tiles and faucets and lighting. She’s well connected and referred us to a wonderful contractor in Ladner and a quality fabricator for our vanities and fireplace. If we didn’t have Viviane to act as our designer, project manager and coach, we’d probably still be at it. We’d not worked with a designer before and would recommend the process. Renovating is not easy as it seems to go on for weeks so if you can find someone as skilled and able as Viviane to help you through it, you’ll be fortunate.

> Impeccable design aesthetic and talent are what Viviane of Movike Design contributed to the renovation of two bathrooms in our home.
> Our home is almost 25 years old but this was our first experience with renovating. We are thrilled with how both the Ensuite and Main bathrooms were transformed into functional, modern and beautiful spaces.
> Once we had chosen Viviane to work on our project, she introduced us to WR Contracting. Viviane and WR worked seamlessly together over the course of the renovations. Our contractor mentioned to me on numerous occasions how Viviane's organizational skills (a great "Spec" binder!), professionalism and design expertise helped their work run smoothly. I found that for each design dilemma presented to Viviane, she had a good solution.
> Together, Viviane and I explored options for materials, then narrowed down our choices. I could count on her to let me know if something was not a good choice and why, all while keeping budget in mind.
> It was important to me to keep grout lines to a minimum in the shower areas for ease of cleaning. To address this, in the Ensuite bathroom the same 48x24 polished floor tiles were run into the shower stall with a matte finish complete with a linear drain. In the Main bathroom, a Fiora shower base was installed. This was the first time our contractor had installed this type of shower base but we love it for its ease of cleaning and non-slip texture. A doorless shower stall in the Ensuite bathroom also minimizes cleaning as well as improving accessibility. I can't forget to mention that glide-out laundry hampers in the Main bathroom have been a bit of a life-changer!
> We would not hesitate to recommend Movike Design for your project.

> We hired Movike Design to help us with a major home renovation that included the design of our kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room. We are thrilled with the results! Viviane helped us create a home which works well from a practical and design perspective. I can't imagine doing the renovation without her - her sense of what works and what doesn't is amazing! She listened to what we wanted and offered excellent suggestions, but was also very conscious of our budget. She has good supplier contacts and worked very well with our contractor. My husband and I highly recommend Movike Design. We are so very pleased with how everything looks! We will definitely be hiring Viviane to give us design advice on other areas of our home.

**★★★★★ — Meg Roberts, July 2019**

> Viviane designed our two bathrooms, laundry area and front hall foyer. She was very easy to work with, communicated well and listened to our ideas. Viviane has a positive rapport with vendors and expertise in design knowing what would look best in our home. Her knowledge and direction saved us countless hours we otherwise would have spent wandering around showrooms. The total design with all the selected items was laid out in a useful reference binder. Viviane was so helpful, pleasant and affordable that we are pleased to recommend her services to others who need design expertise.

**★★★★★ — Shelley Brignall, Dec. 2018**

> We hired Movike Design for the renovation of our Main and Ensuite Bathrooms earlier this year. Viviane was very professional yet down to earth and easy to work with. I found her knowledge of design and colour extensive and extremely helpful which resulted in two beautiful, cohesive and last but not least, functional designs. She always made time to answer our questions offering her thoughts and reasons in a timely manner. She made numerous suggestions for additional features and improvements to the design which we would never have thought of ourselves while keeping our budget and timeline in mind. I highly recommend Viviane and Movike Design. We look forward to working with Viviane next year when we do further renovations.

> The transformation of our laundry and bathroom was incredible! We are in the process now having our family room renovated by Viviane.

**★★★★★ — Nataya Brodie, Sept. 2017**

> Viviane of Movike Design was wonderful in taking the time to get to know what was important to us in terms of the look and functionality of our home. The recomendations she made were well thought through and budget friendly. Viviane was very prompt and diligent in her follow up and included links and contact information for the suppliers she mentioned. We implemented the majority of her recommendations and are very happy with the results. We are pleased to recommend Viviane of Movike Design.

**★★★★★ — Si Stainton, Aug. 2017**

> Excellent design sense. Very easy to work with and reasonable pricing.
> Can pretty much source whatever you are looking for through her extensive network.
> I'm very happy to have Movike design my beautiful bathroom

**★★★★★ — Sandra MacFarlane, Aug. 2017**

> When I hired Viviane to advise me on a kitchen reno I had seen a number of projects she had executed and was impressed with her style, knowledge, resourcefulness and vision. As my experience with renovations was limited I felt intimidated by the process and had difficulty making decisions. She gave me valuable design advice, guided me in sourcing suppliers for many aspects of the renovation and though always mindful of my taste she focused me and greatly assisted me in making the right choices. She pointed out details I wouldn’t have thought of that greatly added to the renovation at little cost. I have no hesitation in recommending Viviane and would definitely use her services again.

**★★★★ — User, Aug. 2017**

> Viviane's excellent knowledge of tile composition really made my selections easy. I think I would have been hunting for tiles for weeks otherwise. Her design advice was always with an eye to function as well as form, and with a large family, her tips on how to keep things long lasting and easy to clean were much appreciated. She also has an excellent eye for colour matching. I've had paint colours go sideways too many times before, and I am so happy that these paints are as perfect on the walls as they were in my mind. I even think I ended up saving money I would have spent on mistakes I would've made without her experienced assistance. So, with her help, I saved money as well as time. Thanks for all the great advice Viviane! All my guests rave about my new bathrooms!

**★ — Rustic Woods, Aug. 2017**

> We used Movike Design, but we weren't happy with the service we received. We won't be using her services again.

**Comment from Movike Design:**

> This client wanted a consultation on the exterior of their house. I did an hour and half of a walk-through, that gave them detailed ideas on how to approach the design and possible solutions to a number of issues. While it seemed that they were happy with the ideas, they appear to have changed their minds afterwards. Clients need to know that designers giving their know-how during a walk-through are doing a consultation that's payable.

## Community Q&A

**Q: kitchen size** *(in Photo Questions)*

Could you please tell me the kitchen dimensions and also provide size of angled peninsula? Love the design on this kitchen!

A: Hi there, the angled peninsula was about 72" and the entire length of the kitchen was approx. 11 feet and the width was about 12'6". Hope that helps, Viviane

**Q: Help with siding!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

The color isn't exactly representative and it's a gloomy cloudy day. Spruce (left) or cypress (right)? Will have a black roof and shutters, and a red door.

A: Love the Spruce. Softer than the Cypress. Will look great with red door and black roof and shutters!

**Q: HELP PLEASE....HEADBOARD SUGGESTIONS!!!!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

HELP!!!!!!! Headboard Suggestions.
linda Kelley2 hours ago
I have this metal headboard. I do love the metal work. My walls are painted a light grey and the wall behind the bed is a grey blue. The comforter is like pictured below..blue grey, light green, and white. The two dressers are a chalk blue. The night stands are a olive green.
My dilemma......should I paint the headboard a chalky finish...if so what color? Or should I just start from scratch and build a upholstered headboard. The only thing is I have 2 doggies that sleep with me, and I didn't want dog hair attaching itself to the fabric on headboard.
The blanket up on chest of drawers is the doggies....The top pic is of my sham...which is the colors of the comforter.

A: Would spraypaint it with high gloss white or grey for a shabby chic look that works with dresser and the headboard style...

**Q: Kitchen reno for small apt kitchen ideas anyone?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

A: Declutter the small applliances (easier said than done :-)) and replace countertop with a light grey or white one and buy new bar chairs/kitchen chairs

**Q: What type of mosaic tile is this? I have searched but can't find.** *(in Design Dilemma)*

If anyone knows this tile please let me know. Or even the type of tile. Would it be called iridescent? Thanks in advance.

A: check with Ultan in Richmond think I have seen it there http://www.glstonetile.com/

**Q: Painting too big?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi All,

I have been looking for two contemporary paintings, on acrylic to add color to the room. Room is mostly beige, grey, white. Looking for a colorful painting and then add accessorize to match the colors in the painting. Saw these two in a local store. And took pictures and creating the 'preview'. The paintings are the size of the TV(40x60)

Is the painting too big? Is it overpowering?

Behind the living area is a dinning table, and kitchen with white countertops and dark chocolate cabinets.
The whole space is about 40x20.. Open spaces

Ideally I would have liked a little smaller size painting. But I like the painting a lot.. And wanted to get opinions about the sizing...

Thank you all!

A: The two paintings framing the TV looks a bit awkward. I would create a picture wall - perhaps with one of the paintings and balance the other side with a tall sculpture or a floor lamp, something that has vertical height. Also, pull the a white leather arm chair more into the room, angled towards sofa, to create cohesion
