> For the past 10 years, I have worked with City Renovation (Craig and Ian) on a number of both client-projects as well as personal ones.

> My projects have centered around renovations and have ranged from fairly limited in scope i.e. a simple room renovation to encompassing structural work on entire, old homes replete with all that this entails.

> Most recently, we collaborated on a renovation of a Victorian (1880's) home in downtown Toronto.  This job encompassed some structural elements (The previous owner had removed a floor joist in the basement, required for a supporting wall, causing the entire house to sag toward the centre) as well as a full "gut and reno" of a second floor kitchen and bathroom.  The completion of this job will also eventually require a 2nd floor patio to be installed.

> Our second floor kitchen needed an exterior renovation.  It had no insulation and was covered with wooden shingles which had deteriorated.  City Renovation discussed with us the merits of cedar shakes versus aluminum siding, provided estimates for both, and we went with the siding.  The work was done in a timely fashion, there were no surprises, everything was cleaned up extremely well, and we are very pleased with the result.  We have used City Renovation for other, more complex jobs (I am just describing the most recent one here) and the key word is reliability.  They also have a problem-solving approach in which they try to marry the client's aesthetic preferences and financial limits with the constraints of carpentry, existing materials, building code, etc. to come up with a result that is attractive, safe, durable, and good value for money.  I have used them for several jobs and will continue to do so and to recommend them to others.
