> We hired this company to install five doors and two windows, based in part on a previous positive experience with their Buffalo operation. Unfortunately, our experience with the Rochester team has been extremely disappointing.
>
> The project began on January 19, 2026, and more than five months later it remains unresolved.
>
> During the installation, multiple issues occurred, including incorrect measurements for two doors, two doors being installed in the wrong openings, unfinished exterior wrapping, improperly installed interior trim, doors that allow visible daylight around the edges, thresholds that flexed when stepped on, and a window that would not open and close properly. We also discovered that one deadbolt strike plate had never been secured with screws.
>
> In March, a former master installer from the Buffalo office inspected the project and advised us that none of the door measurements were correct. He stated that two doors would need to be reordered and that three others would need to be reinstalled. He also indicated that the wrapping work on the doors and windows had not been done correctly.
>
> Despite being told corrective action would be taken, months passed without meaningful follow-up. Communication has been poor at best throughout the project, including repeated no-call/no-show appointments, missed commitments, and long periods without updates. We have contacted the company multiple times seeking resolution and have received little response.
>
> At this point, our confidence in the company's ability to complete the work properly has been exhausted. We expected professional installation and customer service but instead experienced significant installation defects, delays, and a lack of communication. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend this company.

> I gave one star because I couldn't give no stars.
> Window World of Winchester, VA is absolutely the worst company to get for replacement windows.
> We had a total of eleven windows replaced , and there was an issue with each one.
> There were nine windows that had issues on the inside. The issue was at the top of the windows. Some of the vinyl part that goes across the top was flush ( which it should be), and other parts had a gap.
> There were nine windows that had issues on the outside. The issue on the outside was with the aluminum at the top. One corner would be flush , and the other would have a gap.
> We had multiple issues with the caulking , both inside and outside. The caulking was not uniform, some windows had gulps of caulk, while others had just a sliver.
> When?\\nI question these issues I was told by management that these things happen. Maybe the house is not square. Remember these are replacements. Nothing is perfect. I understand that nothing is perfect. But when you are paying for a product and surface , it should be close to perfect. The vision of Window World is if it is not perfect, caulk it. Not the proper solution.

> The communication has been incredibly disappointing—virtually nonexistent. I paid online, but no one reached out to schedule the installation. When I called, I was informed it would take four weeks. Those four weeks came and went without any updates. After multiple follow-up calls—at least five or six times—I still have no door installed and no communication from the company. The last time I called, I was told the door had arrived, but the person responsible was out for the week and would call when they returned. Another week has passed, and still no call. Window World, you need to do better. I’ll be sharing my experience in reviews, and I still don’t have the door I paid for in full nearly two months ago.

> We were referred by friends to WWofT. Their pricing was fair. To be honest, they had a better range of prices than others we checked with and while I found a better price from a guy and a truck, I wasn't sure that the job would be done within a week or even a month. So, we went with Window World. Our contact was Jack Guiler and this dude was awesome! He answered a ton of our questions, guided us to our options and didn't sell us, just left it up to us to make a decision. Windows came in and were installed in 1 day (19 windows)!!!!!!!! We opted for the financing and after about 15 months, we had an issue and Window World and Jack specifically went to bat to help us. Overboard, above and beyond is how I would describe my experience, especially after the install. They could have just said there's nothing we can do, but they did and I REALLY appreciate it. Don't forget the windows have a lifetime warranty! I send everyone to Jack and Window World!!

**Comment from Window World:**

> David, this is wonderful to hear! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

> I had 13 windows installed by Window World this week. I have to say how pleased I am with the results! My house feels brand new and looks awesome! I'll start by saying the obvious: nobody likes to invite a "stranger" into their home...even if they are paying them to do so...especially those who are single females. You just don't know these days, right? Well, what I was most nervous about, ended up being what made the whole process worth it. The installer's professionalism, friendly demeanor, and expertise were all off the charts amazing (his name was Tom). I was completely at ease, and I plan to request him, specifically, for any of my future Window World services. In addition, each of the responses I received after emailing WW (regarding questions I had 1. Up to the date of the installation and 2. After the job was completed, as well as having to 3. Set up a different installation date early on, due to scheduling conflicts), were addressed immediately by a very helpful woman named Samantha. Her thorough explanations were easy to understand, and her flexibility and patience are still very much appreciated! From start to finish, WW's staff and service is excellent, all around! Thank you so much, Window World! You have my highest recommendation! :-)

> Window World replaced all of the windows in my 1910 home. The were professional, knowledgeable, and affordable. The windows replacements are a great quality, and resolved all of my draft issues. I highly recommend them.

> Window World products, warranty and skilled installation crew are all top notch.
> Everybody we encountered in this company was professional, polite and efficient.
> The windows add great value! Also, our home and yard were spotless when they finished.
> We are so happy with the new window upgrade. Highly recommend.

> Window World replaced all 27 windows in my home back in 2006. Easy to clean. Reduces outside noise. No drafts. Excellent product. In 2017 I asked them to replace three windows due to mold build up. They shipped all three to me within 3 weeks. Very pleased with their lifetime warranty. The folks in NC are very courteous.

> not happy at all, never called to let me know they weren't coming to install, now 3 windows are too small, will never get them again and will let family and friends know about this. is this how you keep your customers happy?

**★ — Paula Twardy Pranka, Jan. 2016**

> At first I was excited and very happy with the windows. A few years later I am less than thrilled. The windows themselves are ok. Mine break and have been repaired once and need to be repaired again. My biggest problem is with the installation. Not knowing much about home improvement at the time, we called window world to install 23 windows on our 1942 house. The house itself was very sound and is brick. While watching the installer replace the old wood windows, I not knowing much, didn't seam alarmed when he put the new windows in without insulation or any type of sealing. Then followed that by putting in the vinyl trim on the exterior of each one without caulk or sealing the gaps. Years later and $600 electricity bills all winter and countless home repairs under my belt. I now know the cause of an extreme draft and overall uncomfortable condition of my home. The completely solid brick home was not sealed and there is a draft that runs through it that can freeze a polar bear. We are a military family of 8 and bought what we could afford at the time. I recommend that you really consider what you are paying for with these windows and installation. Windows are not something you can just changeout again later like a cheap light fixture. I used to recommend window world to all my friends and neighbors who are renovating in our historic neighborhood. Now I steer them away because while cheap, you will pay for it with your electricity bill every month. We sure do.

> My family and I are located in York, PA. We recently purchased windows and gutters from Window World and we're very pleased. Their price was thousands of dollars lower than another quote that we received and we were able to get the bow window that we wanted. The installation was perfect. I would recommend Window World to anyone looking for new windows at a good price.

> The sales person that came to the house was very professional and provided great important about what we were going to receive. They did a great job in installing the windows. Very professional workers. Were we to get paper work on the windows during the time of insulation? If so, we didn't receive any, plus when we received a call from window world after windows were installed, they ask if they showed us where the serial numbers were we told them no. And we still don't know where the serial numbers are, if that is important, we don't know.
>
> Thanks again for the beautiful windows, Rick and Peggy Lyter
