> I hired Kirkpatrick Design to completely update the exterior look of my 1980s town home.  I explained I wanted a modern, linear clean look and let him do the visualization.  He prepared detailed drawings of my new front patio, with a custom iron fence, electric gate, water feature, and complete landscaping.  With the detail of the drawings I knew exactly how many plants of each type that would be required so that I could get bids from different contractors.   Bryan was on site during the construction and was instrumental in helping me make sure the contractors were executing what had been specified.  A great experience, and one that even stayed on budget.  Definitely will use Kirkpatrick design for my upcoming kitchen re-model.

**Q: What is the name of the plant used along fence** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: asparagus ferns

**Q: Would like to duplicate your fence style in a small area of yard.** *(in Photo Questions)*

Please tell me what type of wood and anything that might be helpful.  We have a "no fence" rule in our subdivision.  I have a small dog. Neighbor has 2 big watch dogs.  I want a small area that protects my dog right off the back of the house near the kitchen.  This looks ideal.  Comments please.  Thank you!

A: I believe we used standard 1x8 cedar fence boards w/ the bevel cut off the ends. Put posts every 8' & staggered the boards & stained it.

A: the horizontal fence is stained cedar. the screen is some type of semi-transparent privacy mesh. don't think it's pvc though.

A: the fountain was partially custom built. the "planter" had a hole cut in the bottom with a pvc pipe & shut-off valve but the base & pump was done on site. the "planter" came from an import place off Hempstead hwy in Houston.

do you remember where you got the lanterns from? they're great!

A: I believe we got them at marshalls. Restoration hardware and Pottery Barn may have something similar.
