(photos encouraged) A: French Doors **Q: Help me find a way to cover my view!** *(in Design Dilemma)* I was very disappointed to see the house we are building is closer then I thought to our neighbor. Our living room windows literally only see his home. I like light and won't be able to live with curtains always shut, but the view is AWFUL and I can't live with that either. Would love ideas to cover it, but still have the natural light. Please help! A: Maybe do a stained glass window? Would let the light in, look nice and block the view all at the same time! **Q: Exterior redo decisions for a blah exterior need help** *(in Design Dilemma)* I have this 40's plain Jane exterior. The siding is rotten in spots and needs so much repair that I'm biting the bullet and installing James Hardie. I need help in two ways guys, first is the design of the siding. I'm thinking about going as pictured. Lap board on bottom, board and batten on top and then staggered shingle on the gable. (I used paint program for the first time so it's not the best) or maybe board and batten on the gable and the shingle just on the interior of the porch? I'm getting bigger posts and something done with the window trim, and door trim. Should I replace the door with a half glass? Painted or wood? Then the dilemma that's running over a month. What color??? Might not be able to tell but the roof is black, gray, and a greenish blue color. so need something that doesn't clash. I've looked at shades of blue gray and them green gray till I can't see straight. I can't even decide if I want my trim light of dark...leaning toward the dark side but really not sure. I do know that I want the 2 body styles at least a different shade to contrast, and then the shingle colors another shade? So then what about trim, door and shutters? I will landscape near the house after it's finished. Just haven't yet to make it easier for the installers. thanks so much in advance. **Q: Ideas for Kitchen** *(in Design Dilemma)* I am had some great feedback on another aspect of my house, so I wanted to get some ideas for the kitchen. We don't have a ton of money to redo it and there is a lot here to work with, so I'm initially thinking about painting the cabinets white, building a breakfast nook in the corner and buying a pre-built white kitchen island with a cutting board top. Does anyone have any thoughts on this or any better ideas? There's a lot of space here, but it just doesn't feel finished and seems like it could be a lot nicer with a little work. Another option is to stain the cupboards a cherry wood color, which i think would look nice, but I'm not sure if it is possible or how it will look to stain that wood (it's got a glossy finish and almost seems like a fake wood). A: Would remove the ones above the range to the right, add some cute storage bins? **Q: Update this blah exterior.** *(in Design Dilemma)* Limited budget, but would like to change shutters and window trim, and paint color.
