### Reviews

**★★★★★ — Linda and John Edgell, Sept. 2024**

> Interactive Construction, and especially Mike Dahlke and his crew were a joy to work with, and they did an excellent job. Mike’s crew was respectful of our space and ourselves. (We had to live in our house during the flood repairs). Mike was a great communicator and gave us weekly progress and work schedule reports. He arranged for all the trades and scheduled them. I would most certainly recommend Interactive Construction for any project. Our was reasonably small but quite complicated, as it involved an engineer and an architect. Our home had been flooded due to a design flaw in one of our enclosed decks. We live in a strata and Mike worked with the strata to remediate and redesign the deck and repair a large amount of structural damage.

> I've worked with Russ and his crew on many occasions and it's always a positive experience. Led by Russ' expertise and good communication, his crew is a great collection of highly skilled and hard working carpenters. Their unofficial motto captures their ethos perfectly: "Work hard and be nice to people". Combined with their depth of talent, this makes for very successful jobs.

**★★★★★ — Gregory Ast, Aug. 2019**

> With a six month schedule demand and the ink on our drawings still damp, Interactive grabbed our renovation and did it on schedule. With a project manager that was half super computer and half psychotherapist and a team of carpenters who could do anything we needed in no time flat, Karen and I learned how to renovate 2000 square feet from sub-floor realignment to virtual re-wiring and re-plumbing of every inch of our '80s rancher using Interactive's business partners who were just as responsive.

**★★★★★ — Pacific Rim Interiors, June 2017**

> We had the pleasure of working with Russ and his crew to supply the kitchen cabinets for the "Expanding Spaces" project and found the entire team to be very thorough and efficient with the homeowners vision always at the forefront. We look forward to working Interactive Construction again and have recommended them to our customers.

**★★★★★ — Lisa, June 2017**

> We hired Interactive Construction to do a complete up/down renovation of our home. We are thrilled with the end result! They were able to bring our vision of an open concept living space to life and give us some great ideas of their own along the way. They completely redid the kitchen with custom cabinetry and amazing lighting; opening it up to the living room, reconfigured our bathrooms; updating with new tile and mill work, replaced our windows, our flooring, and gave us a ton of much needed storage! Through all the ups and downs (as with any renovation), Russ and his team were excellent in working with us to make sure things were done in a timely fashion and within budget. We couldn't be happier and would recommend Russ to anyone looking to do a home renovation!

**Comment from Interactive Construction:**

> Thank you, Lisa! We were just looking through some before and after photos earlier today - what a phenomenal difference. You made smart really choices on this renovation and it shows. All the best to you and the family!

**★★★★★ — User, Jan. 2017**

> We hired Russ to do a complete renovation of our lower level, including taking a 1 bedroom self contained suite down to the studs. Russ also help tweak areas of the main floor to make for more functional living spaces. Russ, his crew and sub-trades were great to work with; they respected our time, family and space and we never felt like they were interfering with our lives (which can often be the case when you're living in the house during a reno). We would definitely recommend Russ and Interactive Construction!

**Comment from Interactive Construction:**

> Your job was a crew favorite - we were all sad to be done and have to move on! Call if you need anything touched up or warranty work on anything. We'll take any excuse to drop by and say hi!

**★★★★★ — denjanf, Aug. 2016**

> Interactive Construction was hired as a general contractor for a renovation project in our home. Two bathrooms and a entranceway area were involved. Project was brought in ahead of time and on budget.

**Comment from Interactive Construction:**

> It was a pleasure working with you both! And thank you for taking the time to review us here.

**★★★★★ — Joslyn McDonald, Aug. 2016**

> Great communication, super friendly staff.
> My kitchen turned out exactly how I wanted it. Russ was great at working with us and making suggestions to help us get the features we wanted within our budget.

**Comment from Interactive Construction:**

> We enjoyed the challenge of fitting a lot of beautiful kitchen into a limited space. It made an incredible difference and we're glad you think so too! You've got great style!

**★★★★★ — Down to Earth Gardens and Nursery, May 2016**

> Outstanding company!
> From start to finish the crew at Interactive construction were prompt, professional, and on budget.Their attention to detail and superb craftsmandhip rendered an above par final product.

**Comment from Interactive Construction:**

> Always a pleasure working with you. We're looking forward to doing so again soon!

**★★★★★ — Abbey Road Paving and Landscapes, Dec. 2015**

> I have worked with/for Russ and Interactive Construction on various projects over the past few years. As a local business owner/contractor, I appreciate Russ’s honesty, professionalism and attention to detail, and he’s always available and quick to respond. Some of these characteristics can be rare in the construction business. Interactive also has a great team of skilled/experienced guys and I have recommended Russ to several of my clients. Great local company!

**★★★★★ — wetcoastnoel, Dec. 2015**

> I've had Russ from Interactive take care of remediation work at my last condo and several challenging jobs in my houses, they always show up and are great at the small details, I highly recommend them for large or small jobs

**★★★★★ — shgrizzly, Sept. 2015**

> I gladly recommend Russ and his team of workers to complete your next project. I was under a very tight deadline to repair a balcony which could of lead to a lost real estate sale. Russ understood my dilemma and fortunately, was able to squeeze my project in just in the nick of time! The workers cleaned up and removed all debris. My only regret, I had not done the project sooner to enjoy the enclosed balcony myself! I know who I will certainly call for any future construction needs along with passing on rave reviews for anyone seeking highly QUALIFIED contractor and crew.
> With many many thanks Russ, Taylor and Malcolm for a job well done!
> Sincerely
> Sue Hartlieb

**Comment from Interactive Construction:**

> It can be tough to get things done properly on short notice, and we're happy to have been able to help!

 - Description: This private waterfront home is the perfect getaway property. Located in a quiet neighbourhood, every aspect of the home invites tranquility and calm. Every bathroom had to come out, and was redesigned and crafted with spa-like results. The kitchen received a hardware refresh and a new island with granite counter. New custom millwork isn’t just for kitchens and bathrooms – a floor to ceiling shelving and desk was installed in the den, custom walk-in closet, and shelving, bench, and equipment dra…

 - Description: Our challenge going in was “can we modernize while keeping the class and style of the era”. The answer was, yes! This house had an exterior facelift as well as a top storey added in the early 2000’s. The new storey and siding were done in a very modern style, but the renovation didn’t touch the original 60’s main floor décor. We were able to retain most of the original cove ceilings and rebuild them where the renovation had to cut through to create better spaces. We brightened up the space by op…

 - Description: This secluded house and separate cottage on the bay is nestled in a quiet little peninsula of paradise. Unfortunately its best days were behind it when our wonderful clients became the new owners. Among the required upkeep was new septic systems for both the house and cottage, as well as substantially new drainage. In desperate need of a new roof, we took the opportunity to re-frame some areas, creating more pleasing sight lines. The electrical, plumbing, and heating systems were all inspected a…

 - Description: This growing family had outgrown their classic ‘70s home. It was time to open things up to create more functional layouts and a more family friendly home. Walls – who needs them? Completely opening the kitchen to the dining and living room, this transitional kitchen design makes the house feel bigger, and allows the whole family to be together. The bright and clean space provides lots of storage, and the large island is great for entertaining, all while maintaining a clean timeless design. The n…

 - Description: After deciding to renovate instead of moving to a new residence, Don & Beth invited us into their cozy home get the job done. After a very involved design phase, we were able to renovate the entire kitchen, dining room, living room, and new floors throughout, all while they remained living along-side us. Needless to say we all became quite close as we cut and hammered our way through their home and daily routine. A decorative separation between the living and dining area were removed, and a new…

## Community Q&A

**Q: What kind of flooring is that?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: We settled on a 7" White Oak Engineered Hardwood (French Connection) for that project. The space was open enough to support a nice wide product and it looked great installed!

**Q: floor tile!** *(in Photo Questions)*

what is this floor tile? its gorgeous!

A: Hi Leanna. Thank you for your interest. I'm afraid we don't seem to have the spec for that tile on file any longer, sorry!

**Q: Love the sphere floating lights! Where in Victoria, would I find them** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: These fixtures were not supplied through us, so I do not have the source on file. I would check in with Illuminations or McLaren Lighting in Victoria.
