> Excellent to work with right from initial designs to finish. Very patient and willing to share their expertise even after the project was finished. Appalachian Log and Timber Homes was able to work around our schedule and the quality of the work was outstanding. We were treated like friends not clients and would not hesitate to use them again on our next build.

> Great to work with! The Appalachian Log Home team went above and beyond and were a joy to work with!

**★★★★ — paulp86, May 2016**

> I have been a supplier of log home products to Appalachian Log Homes for over twenty years. I have found the Carters to be very professional in all their dealing with my company and with their customers. I'll have to admit in this review that I am biased because sometimes you get to be good friends with some of your customers, and I have been lucky enough to have had that happen in this case. Appalachian provides beautiful log and timber products for people all over the country and even overseas. They are knowledgeable, helpful, and know this type of construction.

> I have never been treated as nice by any company from the start to completion as I have from the whole team at Appalachian Log Homes...

> I have been doing business with Appalachian log homes for over 20 years they are one of the best company's to deal with understanding each customers story about their log home.
> Each sales person is excellent in their advice to customers on what to do, so to say they are
> one of my favorites company's to deal with. Thanks Greg

> We have been working with Dave Carter Jr. at Appalachian Log and Timber Homes for over 10 years. During this time we have purchased multiple log and timber homes (each type) and exported them to New Zealand. He is as honest as they come, a delight to work with, diligent in finding the right answer to your needs. We have NEVER met anyone that works as hard as he does.

> It is a family run business and it shows the extra mile they are willing to go to get you exactly what you want. We have never had a problem with any of the materials he has supplied or the work they have done. Designs are well thought out and if they don't have exactly what you want in a pre-made design they will change it to your liking. There has never been a contractor we have personally enjoyed working with more. Honesty and integrity are their best qualities...something you often don't find in the industry anymore.

> Appalachian Log and Timber Homes were hired to provide the timber material, design and install a roughly 1400 square foot screen and open patio. We were very pleased with the professionalism, integrity, craftsmanship, quality of the work and provided material. I would be very happy to recommend Appalachian Log and Timber Homes for any job.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Love the floors! Where can I get them?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Floors

A: Those floors are great, but unfortunately we didn't supply them. The owner went through a local vendor. Sorry we couldn't be more help!

**Q: Remodeling a western NC log home** *(in Photo Questions)*

I am interested in purchasing a black iron bed as shown in your series of Houzz photographs in Sparta. Would you please send me some information where I might find it.
Regards,
Margaret Walters margaretw000@gmail.com

A: Hey Margaret, That bed is great! Unfortunately, I am unable to answer your question. We only provided the building materials of the home and our client is the one with a great decorating eye. Good luck on your search!

**Q: Leather chairs** *(in Photo Questions)*

Where to get the leather chairs?

A: I apologize for the late comment, and unfortunately do not know where my clients got these chairs. We only provided the timber for this house. The chairs are great though!

**Q: What is the best wood to stain dark walnut** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Shirley,
Sorry for just now reading this. I did not realize you had sent a question. If you have Dark Walnut, I would just use a nice satin tongue oil. It will bring out the beauty of the wood! There are lots tongue oil products on the market, but I tend to use Formby's tongue oil or a teak oil by Formbys. You can buy it at Lowes and is really easy to use. Thanks for your questions and let me know of any other questions you have

**Q: What kind of paneling or planks are on the right wall/** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Really LATE in responding to this question. It is reclaimed barn wood
