After graduating from the CSU Interior Design program together, we each went to work for two different types of design-related companies. We both spent several years at our respective jobs with no intentions to leave, but we never stopped talking about how “someday…”, “someday we would start our own design firm together” … “someday we would be lucky enough to do what we love and do it together”… well, we didn’t know how soon “someday” would become until the recession hit at the end of 2008. We knew it wouldn’t be long before we were both at risk due to the rapid decline of business in design and construction related fields. So, being the proactive people that we are, we decided what better time than now to make our “someday” happen. We both left our jobs before being the next to be laid off and began conceiving of our brainchild now known as Inhabit Design Group.

Design, for us, started as a hobby- until we were old enough to realize that one could make a living doing what we do. We are a two-woman operation and intend to keep it that way. We do what we do because we love to design and want to be personally involved with every project, every client and every stage of the design. We consider ourselves a small “boutique” like firm where we treat each project as if it were our only project providing the highest level of personal attention and concierge-like service. We are our client’s biggest advocates and remain fiercely loyal to our client’s and their projects.

The collaborative process with our clients proves that the sum of the whole is indeed greater than its parts. We love the process of helping people discover their voice through their surroundings. We are an open book style business. We are unlike many other firms as we do not try and make money in selling retail. In fact, we have a more unique business model where we only charge for our time and professional services while extending all of our trade discounts on retail merchandise directly to the client. After working with clients for months or even years, we often become as close as family and, what once started as a client/designer relationship, turns to that of a friend and family-like relationship. It is this reason that most of our clientele are repeat clients….we have become friends that they know they can put their trust in.

**★★★★★ — Elisabeth Aron, June 2017**

> Where do I start? I was totally overwhelmed with a large renovation project involving multiple stories and rooms lasting close to 1 year in a historic designated Old Town home. Sarah jumped right in a provided expert help and emotional support. She became a vital part of the renovation team. She is largely responsible for the functionality, warmth, and beauty of my home. She treated us all with the utmost respect, even taking the time to listen to my 10 year old daughter's desires for the paint color in her bedroom.
>
> Sarah was involved with: directly speaking with my contractor, selecting and ordering appliances, tile, counter tops, paint colors, light fixtures, and furniture selections. She was a great advocate for our family. She has a great eye for color and design. She can work within any budget and can narrow down options for you. She is able to adapt to the unexpected twists of renovating an older home. She is able to keep things moving on schedule. She is also fun and easy to communicate with. She never tried to impose her style on us, but listened and understood what we needed.
>
> We have continued this relationship over the years and I often re-consult with her when I have to make updates or minor changes. I can honestly recommend Sarah to you without a single reservation.

> Andrea was absolutely wonderful. My husband and I loved the color palate she chose. She spent a lot of time and extra trips to our house. She even spent much extra time helping us navigate some difficult problems we had with the painting company. We will definitely choose her when we need design help again.

> We had our basement remodeled by Inhabit Design Group. We totally appreciated the professionalism, dedication and great customer service we received when working with them especially Andrea Schneider. I would highly recommend this "Group" to anyone and would certainly utilize them for future needs of our own. We are extremely happy with the outcome of our basement. Thank you for allowing us to review!

## Community Q&A

**Q: Any suggestions? In search of quartz with marble veining** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am looking for a quartz product that has calacatta marble veining, but also has a subtle pattern in the "non-vein" portions so that it is stark white. Kind of like a mix between Q-quartz (MSI) Calcatta Classique and Cambria torquay.
Thank you!

A: Statuario Nuvo by Caeserstone. As a professional interior designer remodeling my own kitchen, I spent months searching for the perfect Quartz that had a natural looking vein pattern without too much cool gray in it. While the Statuario Nuvo isn't easy on the wallet, it was worth it for how awesome it looks. Everyone who has come over can't believe it when I tell them it's Quartz, not marble. It's just so beautiful that it is truly a work of art that doubles as countertops.

**Q: Might you be able to tell me about the cabinet pulls?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I am looking for this type of cabinet pull but do not know what they are called. Do you have a source for them? Thank you.

A: They appear to be top tab style pulls. Hafele is a great resource with several different options within this tab pull style.

**Q: Door** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is the color of the stain on the door?

A: We will look at the specs. Thank you for your interest in our page!
