The home, which boasts a lot of custom woodwork, had a poorly designed kitchen layout with builder grade materials. There were several different flooring transitions while the entry from the garage was dark and narrow. Two different types of granite, a small kitchen island and underutilized space in the laundry and powder rooms were a thorn in my side. My kitchen was no longer a place I enjoyed being and the laundry room had become a catch-all for everything that didn't have a place. > > I'm a known skeptic when it comes to contractors as I have had a few unhappy experiences in the past.
