> We were tired of retrofitting to our existing audio/visual/IT system and wanted to build a robust, stable system. The professionals at Lelch Audio did an excellent job.
>
> They were knowledgeable, courteous and diligent during all phases of the project. It was an enjoyable and efficient process. Great communication throughout!

> Initially I called just to get some simple information about prewiring. Alex took the time to speak with me for about an hour, reviewing possibilities for project design and what Lelch could provide. Once the build process started, Lelch was always extremely reliable and professional. When problems came up, they always worked till they were able to address the issue with a good solution. Highly recommend without reservation for your home automation needs.

> Great system set up, including TV, gaming system, sonos and more. Great service, good recommendations, good price, on time and stuck around to show us how it all worked. Great team.

> My experience with Lelch has been outstanding in all the phases I have worked with them. From the initial bid where they clearly itemized everything (one major competitor refused to do that), to their clear explanations of the options. I never felt pressured to be "sold up" to things I didn't need. The install was well coordinated and done on-time. They worked with my schedule to complete the training, and took the time to get things done right. I never felt the rush of the tech needing to get to the next job. Since the installation, like any system there are tweaks that are needed. I have found their responsiveness to amazing. I have spoken to techs over the phone, via chat, and through email. They have fixed problems either remotely, in-person, or walked me through the steps. I work in customer service so I have a very high standard, and honestly I can tell you that everyone I have worked with at Lelch is top notch. I would highly recommend them.

**Comment from Lelch Audio Video:**

> We tend to hold professionals to a reasonable, but high standard when working on our home. For this reason, we tend to not give out high recommendations very often. Lelch has delivered over and over though. The completed AV work in our remodeled basement in 2015, including wiring, component set-up, ceiling mounted speakers, mounted TV and greatly improved wifi. In 2016, they mounted a TV on our porch and wired in speakers (now we have Sonos music virtually throughout the house! Love it!). I just got a call from them out of the blue in mid-2017 checking in to see how everything was going. As it happens, I'd been having a little trouble with a universal remote that was part of the work done in 2015. They offered to come out within a week to fix/replace it. Again, I can't say enough good things about how professional, courteous and easy to work with they've all been. I'd highly recommend them for any AV work and will surely use them again.

**Comment from Lelch Audio Video:**

> Thank you for your positive feedback. We sincerely appreciate it.

**★★★★★ — David Thornton, April 2017**

> We had Lelch install state of the art Wifi in our "new" 100 year old house so that we had solid signals on all three floors plus the basement. They also reprogrammed the Theater TV and sound system and the 12 room SONOS system that came with the house, and upgraded the security system to be "smart."
>
> Excellent work and great support. You will not be disappointed by selecting Lelch for your project.

**Comment from Lelch Audio Video:**

> We had a lot of fun with this project. Thank you for the kind words!

**★★★★★ — Erik Root, April 2017**

> Lelch installed a home theater system in our basement. They helped us pick out the right equipment for our available space that also fit out budget. Their installation team was incredibly professional and did an outstanding job. The system looks like it was installed when the house was built! In addition, the Team at Lelch has made it clear that they are available to provide any needed support or to answer any questions as we start to use the system. Highly Recommend using this company if you want a great home theater system!

**Comment from Lelch Audio Video:**

> We had Lelch install an AV system in our family room using our existing speakers. I found them very easy to work with and responsive. During set-up there are issues that come up which need to be addressed. They were very responsive, professional and knowledgeable. I would recommended them highly.

**★★★★★ — Victoria Noble, Dec. 2016**

> We worked with Lelch Audio Video on upgrading the video and sound system in our theater room and throughout the rest of our Minneapolis condo. They were extremely professional from start to finish and our sound is amazing! The team is very responsive when any adjustments/tune ups may be needed and we are looking forward to working with them on several upcoming projects in our home.

**★★★★★ — Kathy North, Dec. 2016**

> We had a multi room upgrade in audiovisual products from Lelch and were very happy with the process. They are professional, answered questions before, during and even after the remodel was complete, and had quick response times. I highly recommend them!

**★★★★★ — User, Sept. 2016**

> Lelch has provided home automation systems work in our home on Wasserman Lake. Their system installation, Control4 integrations, pricing, skilled employees, and experience is very impressive. They completed their work on time and on budget, plus they were flexible to work with us through the process of building a new home and the challenges that can arise. We highly recommend working with Lelch AV for all home automation, sound, and video needs. They are the best in the Twin Cities!

**Comment from Lelch Audio Video:**

> Thank you for the kind words. It was a pleasure to work with you and on your beautiful home!

## Community Q&A

**Q: I don't want 50" TV to block windows OR be above the fireplace.. wwyd?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

What Would You Do?
Moving into a new apartment until our house is ready.. I wanted lots of windows and I got 'em... but I'll be damned, I was thrown a curve ball.. What the hell do I do with this living room set up?
We have a cream leather 3 person sofa, long rectangular coffee table (20"x54"), and a 50" TV.
This room has a fireplace on one wall, large pretty window on the next wall, and one empty wall across from the fireplace (photo included).

We like to curl up at night and watch shows and movies together and being Colorado, we'd like to make good use of our fireplace at the same time.

Husband says it won't be a problem to put TV above the fireplace, space wise that wall is the focal point, but it makes my skin crawl to put a TV over the fireplace for aesthetic reasons and for concern of the heat/smoke + electronics.

What to do..?

A: Check out the new Samsung Frame TV which functions as art when you're not watching it as a TV. Comes in several nice colors for the room. We have had a lot of clients solve this same dilemma with this product. The fireplace seems pretty low so think its doable. Fireplace + TV will simply reduce longevity, but 20,000hrs vs 15,000hrs isn't the end of the world as technology will likely make a few leaps forward before then anyway... Samsung Frame TV Good luck!

**Q: Need ideas for Fireplace mantel with TV mounted on the top** *(in Home Entertainment)*

Looking for design ideas for the fireplace surround and mantel. The fireplace is mostly unused. What type of mantel works best for this space ? Does the tiles have to be replaced to fit a mantel or can something be installed right over the current tiles

The TV is 55' and mounted low to reduce the strain. it could be moved up and centered in the space. the speakers can mounted in the bottom to create a speaker bar like look

A: An idea would be the Frame TV, we do a lot over Fireplaces. Art when not in TV mode and auto-senses people in the room. Pre-built art with Matteing function built-in.

**Q: Home audio options...** *(in Home Entertainment)*

Hi TECHY Houzzers: we are buying a house with very good Bose integral speakers wired into key rooms and the outside entertainment area. The wiring previously linked to an amp and music playing system that is being removed by the seller. We now have all of our CD music burned to playlists and HAD BEEN using a Bluetooth speaker to play it. Do we want to buy an amp and connect an iPad so we can enjoy the top quality sound that these Bose speakers can produce? And if so, any other suggestions? Thanks.

A: I would suggest using Sonos as the source. Either Connect:amps if power is needed or if its full Bose then you will be stuck in its eco-system, but can use Sonos as the source for all the different music streaming services. Bluetooth is OK, but has range issues 15 ft.

**Q: New Construction TV Placement** *(in Home Entertainment)*

We are building a new home and during the electrical walkthrough, we asked for outlets and wire chase to be installed in our family room, living room and master bedroom. The problem is, we did not specify the height.

They put the receptacles at 6-6.5 feet off the floor! Way too high!

Of course, the blue board has gone up, walls plastered, and probably painted too, by now. In the living room and bedroom, the wire chase runs to closets on the opposite walls.

I️ think the living room placement is the worst! Should we ask the builder to move it lower, and risk delaying our move in schedule (trying to close 12/21 before Xmas), and occur the likely cost for the change (since we were not specific), or should we just move in and then I️ can move them lower and patch and paint the wall myself?

I am less concerned about the bedroom, as I think it makes sense for it to be up high for viewing from bed, (but still, maybe not THAT high).

In the family room the TV is above the propane fireplace, which is set low on floor. (I️ understand the pros and cons here, but we opted for more windows so there just isn’t extra wall space for the TV - and we like the central dual focal point of TV/Fireplace, and the room is big enough that the 70 inch screen won’t seem too high, I️ think). I️ am not sure what the height of the mantle will be, but I️ am guessing the location might be ok since we will be putting in a 70 inch TV and could have outlets near top of TV.

What should we do?

A: We generally land outlets 42" - 70" from the floor. 70" being fireplaces 42" being on the lower end of that, but the most common measurement.
42"

70"

**Q: What to do about large wall-mounted TV?** *(in Home Decorating)*

We have a large wall that is blank except for a 72" TV and I need ideas of how to decorate around it. I need some storage below and display area possibly on either side and across the top. My decor is transitional/soft contemporary. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thank you!

A: Built-In's! :)
