Melanie Weber: A Lifelong Passion for Design

Melanie's exposure to interior design began early, inspired by her mother, a decorator in Ecuador. She pursued a degree in Interior Design at the Miami International University of Art & Design, and during her studies, gained valuable experience at a boutique firm specializing in luxury residential and commercial design. After six years in the industry and three years working independently, she partnered with Cristina Hoyos to form 10.Studio. Melanie’s design philosophy emphasizes creating cozy, functional spaces tailored to each client’s lifestyle.

Cristina Hoyos: A Blend of Fashion and Design

Cristina’s background is rooted in fashion and industrial design. Originally from Colombia, she began her career in Boston, working for brands like MaxMara and Vogue Latin America. After moving to Miami, Cristina’s studies in fashion merchandising further honed her skills, especially in textiles and proportions. Her friendship with Melanie grew into a professional partnership, blending their expertise to create a cohesive design approach at 10.Studio.

> I went to college in South Florida and spent almost all my weekends in Miami. When I graduated I promised myself that I would move back. In 2018 I finally got that chance. We closed on a Key Biscayne home on a canal in April of 2019. This was my dream, my wife was uneasy about starting over in the opposite end of the country than where we were from. She had a big task ahead of her (and anxiety) making our new house a home. Cristina and Melanie from 10.Studio were instrumental in helping us assemble the interior of our new house the way we wanted it. They had several trips to the showrooms with my wife and kept us up to date on options, and helped us make final selections. They helped with everything, floor to ceiling... furniture, light fixtures, floor coverings, wallpaper, art, design elements, and so on. Without the help of 10.Studio it would have been impossible for my family to have such a quick and painless transition to Miami-Dade.
