California environmental laws required a "haz-mat" cleanup, which complicated things and took extra time.The law also resulted in the need for all new flooring and tile, because of asbestos and lead issues, which were discovered at very low levels and were common when the home was originally built in the 1970's. > The Artisan crew was very reliable and were easy to work with throughout our ordeal and made the experience as pleasant as possible. Vinyl has really "upped it's game" recently, and has some wonderful options for the wood look you are going for, and some are scratch and water proof. Tile is always a durable option, but will chip or crack if something is dropped on it, and of course that entails a visit from a professional to fix it.
