This company butchered 250 year old trim, thresholds and doors in our home in downtown Charleston beyond recognition. Their work was unprofessional and sloppy. In addition, the workers were creepy, taking the key off property. Unacceptable workmanship and customer relations. We had a combination of floors that needed sanding and refinishing, and areas that needed new wood, and not only did they do a great job with both, but to my unpracticed eye, they were able to make the two look nearly identical! Not only did they do an excellent job, but when I requested they return to make some adjustments they did. About 3 years later, 2 months ago, I asked them to return and match 2 spots where I removed columns. Now that the work is complete you would never know the floor ever wasn't stained all at once. **★★ — Hallie Neal, Dec. 2015** > I used Elegant Hardwood Floors to install hardware floors throughout the first floor of my house. Initially everyone was very friendly and easy to work with. The wood they delivered to my home was beautiful and high quality although I was concerned I needed to remind them to deliver the wood a couple of weeks before installation to acclimate. I was disappointed once the work actually started. They lost the keys to my house twice. The floors turned out beautifully but they left a terrible mess behind. I have never seen so much dust in my life. When I called to complain they said there would obviously be dust with sand on site hardwood floors. It took an entire day for me and my contractor (not elegant hardwoods) to clean up behind them. They advertise a dust free system with no clean up which is not what was delivered and were rude when I pointed this out. > At one point in the house there is a transition from the wood floors they installed to existing tile. The tile at the line was covered in wood stain when they finished the job. I called and they said it was probably my contractor's fault. The contractor had only been to the house twice during their work period to let them in when they lost the keys. They did come clean the tile upon my demand. I couldn't believe they would leave a job like that. There is obviously no pride in workmanship.
