They fabricated and installed - in a remarkably quick and efficient manner, I might add - gorgeous Titanium Granite, which we absolutely love. Kelly is a joy to work with. The selection, purchase and install process was seamless and timely. In every way Kelly and GP exceeded our expectations. Having retired from the remodeling business ourselves, we know good from bad. They were both very helpful. Granite Planet does everything from tile, countertops, plumbing, cabinets, dry-wall, lighting, electrical, glass installation, and painting. Their craftsmen (Mario and Bruce) are highly experienced and detailed oriented! We ordered our plumbing, sinks, faucets, and lighting from Ferguson's in Tucson. Interior designer, Cathy Carr, assisted with the design and prepared plans for both bathrooms. Granite Planet accommodated us in constructing one bathroom at a time. I'll be having the cabinets painted white/whitish, (i think), and not sure what backsplash I'd want, but want something that isn't too trendy. I'm at a standstill in making a decision. I originally wanted soapstone, love the look, but worried about not liking the future scratches it will endure on an expensive investment. Don't really want stark solid black either. Now leaning towards a medium tone?? But still deliberating. Would love some in put. Small wide galley style kitchen. Here's the outdated 90's kitchen: A: There are a few granite colors that are lovely, a great cost, but not trendy. Stay away from marble look alikes if you want to keep it bright, as they are on the way out. I am not sure what your distributors would call the granite (they all have different names) but I would recommend: Kashmire Cream, Smokey Mountain, Monte Cristo, Alaska, Bianco Typhoon or Meteor Show in a Satin finish. We would also recommend cutting down the raised bar and making the peninsula/island one huge piece. That really helps a kitchen to feel more open. You're lucky, the kitchen has great bones! **Q: Granite For River Rock Island?? Please help!!!** *(in Design Dilemma)* Starting our kitchen redo. The island has a river rock back, the same rock as the fireplace. I've ordered cream distressed glazed cabinets. Floor is dark slate. This is a log home, very rustic, all built by hand. Please no advice to paint logs! White shaker cabinets and gray paint would be inappropriate for the space! There is nothing trendy or in style about this home. I'm looking for advice that respects the integrity of this type home. I'm stuck on what counter light colored granite would look nice with the river rock. The floor is very dark. Thank you!!! A: Howdy, Love that you have a unique space. I would recommend a satin finished 3cm granite with a 6cm chiseled edge to make the slab look thicker. The satin finish would contribute to the rustic aesthetic, but you also get the durability of granite. River Bordeaux satin (warmer) or Monte Criso satin (if you want to go cooler toned). How much money do you want to spend? You can get a fantastic stone with a leathered finish at an exotic slab distributor like this one orthis one at The Stone Collection If the home is a log cabin, I might stay away from a butcher block counter so that you don't go overboard with wood. I agree with Debbi, you need some larger stools. Gorgeous space! **Q: Kitchen remodel** *(in Photo Questions)* I'm interested in the soapstone countertops. May I get info about Price and maintenance ?? A: Hi everyone, are y'all sure this is soapstone? It looks an awful lot like Indian Premium Black Leathered granite with an enhancer on the chisel to me. Only reason I ask, is because I'm doing research into whether or not one can chisel soapstone. I don't believe you can. Chisel on Indian Premium Black looks exactly like that. It is also a lot less expensive. I'd check that out as an option mmorchardo. Anyway, that's my 2 cents. The 6cm chiseled edges are also the same as our other laminated edges. I only speak for us, but I hope that helps you!
