Sloppy work and no attention to detail. **★ — Celeste METCALFE, Oct. 2018** > Montchanin Builders has disappointed us earning 1-STAR. They never fixed what the agreed to fix, for example, bowing in the wood on front porch, so it creates a huge puddle when it rains, grout issues (holes in grout), ect... They did not take responsibility for poor drainage on property so, only three holly trees & some sea grass survived in the last year. We even offered to pay them to fix the drainage problems and they declined. We had to pay out of our pocket for bushes & trees to be removed that didn’t even last a year. The dryer vent was a FIRE HAZARD so, BEWARE! The dryer vent was not installed properly and not installed with the proper material. Furthermore, they installed faulty lighting that was dangerous outside & said it was our problem. They insisted that we broke it doing landscaping when, we contacted them about the issue way before we landscaped. Their staff lied to us before our purchase about multiple things and even went as far as to remove woodwork off of our walls, which was included with purchase. There Sales woman gave our family an EXPIRED $100 Harry Savoy Grill gift card at settlement for a present. We have received rude phone calls, a discourteous approach and a work-shy attitude. Their crew of three men came into our home, drunk, one evening screaming for their staff. After confronting them they said it was the model home. This happened another 3 occasions with realtors & home seekers before Monchanin changed there address( months later without an apology). Montchanin Builders Still DOES NOT accept responsibility for their actions or failures with the MODEL HOME we purchased. We have spent a lot money fixing their mistakes so please BEWARE! **★★★★★ — Interior Concepts, Inc., Oct. 2016** > We had the privilege of being able to help design & furnish Montchanin Builder’s latest model home in the Town of Whitehall, in Middletown DE. Working with them has been exciting for us, as they operate much more like a custom builder. They gave us tremendous creative license to suggest memorable trim treatments, super functional built-ins, barn doors, and upgraded lighting to name a few. We enjoy the collaboration we have with Tony, Amy & Whitney … and the end result speaks for itself in their latest “Salisbury” model; it is beautifully appointed with lots of bells & whistles, sure to attract a large audience of home buyers. You’ve got to go tour this home in person! Their “execution of the details” is remarkable! We made an appointment and spoke with both Amy Maluski & Whitney Wright, who made quite an impression with me! They were both kind, informative and above all -- HONEST. We made it very clear, upfront, that we had to move from our apartment in October and that we had a list of "must-haves". Both ladies went over the whole process and showed us the model home. We were FLOORED on how beautiful the townhomes really are and how much open space there is! We immediately put our deposit down, as we knew that Darley Green is where we wanted our FIRST HOME to be and we wanted Montchanin Builders to build it for us! > Throughout the whole process (which lasted eight months), Whitney was in constant contact with us and answered any AND all questions that I had to the best of her ability.
