When issues did come up, the group then took immediate steps to correct any issues and ensured us that the project would be completed in a timely manner. While the end of the project took a bit more time, we have found this is incredibly standard in the construction world. Even with that, the group communicated with us on a daily basis so we knew when the final touches would be finished. Overall we have received nothing but compliments on the work performed and the final product. He didn't mention this to the inspector, and when I told him that I wanted it done according to code, he told me that he'd do it as an "upgrade", even though it was what was promised in our contract. When I asked him if he had installed R-11 in the basement, he avoided the question and would not own up to it (but see attached picture). > > Steven is very responsive and provides updates weekly, which is why at first we thought we'd gotten a great contractor. We passed your inspection which is typically something a homeowner is excited about and we put in the insulation you desired even after passing inspection with the other insulation. We respectfully disagree with your accusation of cutting corners on permits and of any lying or unethical behavior. LSE Builders Group absolutely always pulls a permit whenever necessary; we are licensed general contractors which gives us the power to do that easily. It is true that we cannot snap our fingers and get a permit so perhaps you expected your permit faster but we are on the timeline of the city and/or county within which our work is being done, We know construction projects can be confusing, but it is not possible to lie to an inspector who is checking the insulation himself. All he needs to do is look at the insulation to see what \# it is and make a professional determination himself. Inspectors are some of the most professionally knowledgeable individuals in our industry. LSE Builders Group is known for and takes pride in the fact that we always pull the necessary permits,employ licensed GC's and Project Management Professionals who are familiar with the ins and outs of all code. We are going to renovate. I want to paint the paneling but my husband kind of likes. A: It is much better than most wood paneling we see! We like the grey making it look a bit more expensive. It also looks like bead board which is a plus and especially for a laundry room. It makes it look beachy, rustic. I agree with carolbrandywine above-try to focus on the whole room.
