I'd like to do the risers and pickets cloud white but am torn between black or expresso stain for the steps and posts. It works well with most color schemes. **Q: Roman shades and blinds in same room?** *(in Design Dilemma)* Do you think it would be weird if I put Roman shades and blinds in the same room? I ordered white Roman shades for the biggest window on the main level of my townhouse (front window) There are two other windows on the side of the house. The room is long and narrow and I worry that additional Roman shades might be too cluttered or bulky looking for the space. Would it be too mismatched if I ordered white slatted blinds for the side windows while having a Roman shade for the front facing window? At the very least try to keep it the same colour. **Q: Where should the TV go?** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hello, we just got new floors and are buying new furniture for our family room but are aesthetically challenged :-/ please help us decide where we should out the TV - where it is now? Or hang it on the fireplace. Hanging it on the fireplace will allow us to use its current location for two long bookcases like the IKEA billy maybe? However I am afraid that the TV on the fireplace will make it the focal point of the room which we don't want. Also we need a sofa or sectional in this room. What would you suggest? How should we position it not to lose too much of the pool view? I want the area to be a sitting area first and tv area second. Any other suggestions will be great!!! Thank you. A: Install a custom build entertainment unit where the niche is which will be perfect for the TV. If you don't want the TV to be the focal point of the room (which most are these days) build a barn door style to cover the entertainment unit when not in use. **Q: backsplash dilemma asap** *(in Design Dilemma)* what is the best way to put backsplash? can I do fantasy brown granite 4inch all the way around and full behind stove and sink? A: No, I don't recommend doing the 4in backsplash. Either take it all the way up with your granite or with subway tiles or a mosaic tile. **Q: Want to paint exterior white, what do you think?** *(in Design Dilemma)* We will be restoring this home (built in 1980) but looks older. And I've always liked white on the siding of similar Southern homes. Thoughts? A: Agree with others, white would be lovely and possibly wedgewood blue shutters and trim. It'll be very fresh. Good luck. **Q: Townhouse Exterior Color** *(in Design Dilemma)* My HOA is looking to repaint the townhouses in my community this upcoming year. They've selected 5 colors and have asked the owners to choose one color that you absolutely don't want out of the 5 (and will assign a color out of the rest). Out of the color samples in the picture below, which one would you choose to throw out? I'll also attach a picture of what it currently looks like (middle Yellow one).
