Our property was challenging because there was a large wash that runs directly through the middle of the property. After meeting with several other architects, we were struggling to get to a great vision for the project incorporating the lot’s unique topography. We were frustrated. All that changed when we witnessed Brent’s brilliance. Immediately after our initial consultation with Brent, he toured the property and worked through the evening and early the next morning showed us his initial concepts. I was in awe. Brent took the challenge of the topography and turned it into a strength. In fact, the wash became a focal point and was visually incorporated into the design. We immediately recognized Brent was the perfect architect for us. We continued to be extremely impressed with Brent’s design skills, attention to detail, transparency, and communication abilities. We love living in his creation. Our home has been featured in Phoenix Home & Garden and other publications. How has it held up over time?** *(in Photo Questions)* Type of flooring in the shower? A: Ipe **Q: What is the ceiling material underneath the overhang outside. Wood?** *(in Photo Questions)* Do you recommend using the same material / look on the outside underhand of the soffit to match same material on inside ceilings when you have a full length glass separating the inside from the outside? I get concerned about wood as we are in Arizona. A: The material used in this soffit application is clear anodized aluminum to match the fascia as well as the aluminum window system. We believe less is more and try to limit our pallet of materials to create a more cohesive, visually calmer aesthetic. We do however use wood in exterior soffits often, making sure it is protected from the elements - sun and water. We have homes in Arizona with this detail that are nearing 20 years old with minimal to no maintenance needed on the wood soffits. We do always recommend against using wood as a siding here in the desert where it will take direct impact from sun and rain. Those who do use exposed wood in an exposed application will inevitably incur thousands of dollars of required maintenance, which we try to help our clients avoid. **Q: flooring main living area** *(in Photo Questions)* What type of flooring is in the main living area thank you! It's looks great. A: copper cladding **Q: Are those metal sheets on the left exterior wall, above the windows?** *(in Photo Questions)* If so, do you know the supplier?
