There are many professional, high- quality kitchen designers in Denver- Todd and the team at Kitchen Traditions are not high quality. Not only did they do a poor design for our kitchen, they lack attention to detail, and did not follow-through or help us when we had questions/ problems with the quality of the cabinets that they provided. We ended up having to return many of the expensive items that they suggested/ designed into our kitchen because they did not fit into our kitchen properly (despite the fact that they had visited our space, measured many times, and had a full list of our appliances with their dimensions). Furthermore, they were not up to speed with Denver’s building code and designed a kitchen that would not pass inspection. In addition, the cabinets that they provided are of poor quality and are disintegrating- see the photos attached (we have been using our kitchen for only two weeks). Todd will not return our calls or emails. The team was nice enough at the start but ultimately ended up being absolutely unprofessional. Our contractor warned us against using Kitchen Traditions but we had already placed our cabinet order- I would really suggest you choose another design and cabinet company. **Comment from Kitchen Traditions of Colorado:** > Amanda sorry you feel this way about Kitchen Traditions and the team who ordered your cabinets. I would like to take a minute and respond to the concerns you note in your review. First off the team who worked on your design have been in the high end cabinetry business for 25 plus years and has experience in designing many kitchens in that time for lots of very happy clients. You mention lack of detail and follow through which I know was not the case. We did design a high end miracle corner blind pullout in this design that due to the space remaining was one of the smaller units. It was from a reputable company Rev-A-Shelf and did perform as intended. The complaint was there was some dead space around the pullout and that space is required for it to swing out and operate. This was brought to my attention and we did uninstall it and return to Rev-A-Shelf for a credit that was applied to your final cabinet invoice. This was done in a timely manner as well. Also in relation to the Denver Building Code during the design review in our studio we discussed the size of the island in detail. You were eliminating a peninsula and the overall length of the island was discussed in detail and final size was determined with your input. Your kitchen was a tight space and we all agreed that the corner of the wall at the location of the old peninsula could be less than the optimal 36" that designers use as typical minimal space rule of thumb. The 30 5/16" was noted on the approved plan which I have included. In checking with the Denver Code it is not a code requirement for every walk way to be 36". It is no different than door ways. If you have the room 3'-0" doors are great but for decades houses have used 2'-6" doors in design because sometimes space is valuable in a room layout. When this came up I came to the site and we discussed in person moving the island a little closer to the cooktop if this opening was desired to be larger. Everyone involved agreed that was a great fix but we also all agreed to leave it as per the plans because the space was more valuable at the walkway behind the cooktop and that was the end of the discussion we had on the island. Just like we discussed in the studio. > > In regard to phone calls and emails I did return every phone call and email and your cabinet designer spoke with the installation team when questions came up pretty much daily. 303-704-5011 is my personal cell and anyone day or weekend knows they can call it and I will answer if I am available. > > In regard to your cabinets from the very first meeting we discussed using a semi-custom cabinet line "Siteline Cabinetry" because it was awesome quality and build but was an amazing price point, which you mentioned was a requirement. Your cabinet cost was $21,600.00 and part of the cost savings was in a semi custom cabinet line you do get universal oven cabinets and it is upon the installer to cut the exact opening for the ovens. This is very common in this price point of cabinetry because the savings has to come from somewhere so not providing a custom oven cabinet for every brand and size of oven in the industry allows for lower cost production which equals savings to the end user being the client. We did research the appliances and we did make sure everything fit perfectly the only thing we did not do since we were not providing any installation labor was the final fit of the cutout. > > In regard to quality Siteline Cabinetry is ran and operated from the Corsi Cabinet company which has been in this industry making beautiful cabinets for decades. This lower price point line of semi-custom cabinetry was introduced and is awesome quality for the price point. The drawer front in your photos was not poor quality work but was damaged by someone on site during construction. For a smooth perfect paint job slab doors are manufactured out of MDF and if you bash an edge of MDF hard enough it will look just like your photo. You called the Siteline cabinet company and the rep was in touch with me and asked if I was aware of the warranty request. I said I was not and had not seen this but let me send an email and have the client send us a photo. Photo was received and we all determined it was site damage but that we would cover a new replacement 100% no cost to you under warranty. That all transpired a little before your review and is in production now. Again noted as damaged but was being covered under warranty so not sure why you claim this as bad workmanship. Bottom line you requested a new one and we are getting you one. > > I also would like to note that due to the floor being out of level and some other site conditions we were requested to come out and evaluate with your contractor. I came out personally and also a KTOC project manager came out multiple times. There was an order placed for custom higher than std. toekick material and furniture base to trim out the island because again the floors were out of level over an 1 1/2". I sold these parts at our cost with no margin in good faith that when delivered we would be paid for them. I did deduct the credit for the miracle corner on this invoice and still to this day has not been paid for. It was pretty convenient that your review came timely after I sent a reminder invoice on the outstanding balance. No worries we will drop off the new drawer front when it gets here and you can disregard the final invoice. I would rather not have it at this stage after reading your review. > > I take this business very serious and for my 30 year career have not had a client not totally LOVE the end result with working with my team or me personally. And it was 20% cheaper than the first place I went in Louisville. What also makes them special is that if there is any issue at all, they are willing to make it right, and they're responsive. A: It is a reconstituted walnut veneer.
