He was meticulous in every detail, started work without money in his hands. We had nothing but rave reviews. House was going up quickly; he caught inconsistency in plans, and had great design ideas for the house. He just about checkout 2 two months before we move in. He came late to meet subs on the job or didn’t even show up at all and left it to us. We discovered shoty tile jobs and other items that should have been caught on his supervision. While he has fixed them, the new material was from our costs. He was unable to produce receipts for overages on communicated allowances and ignore punch list items before moving in. He did shotty work on items that he didn’t have the full scope. We had issue upon issue after moving in; incorrect 220V outlet, bathtubs not draining, in operational AC, and smoking from our gas fire place. All addressed some in a not so timely manner. He assures this were all typical items of a new build, while I can say we didn’t have any of them with a spec home. His lack of recent custom homes and not knowing the county required a fountain inspection, lead to our foundation not being built to code and me having to run numbers as an engineer to provide to code official to pass foundation inspection. The 4” CMU was at the upper bounds on capacity and not spec’d out on the originally contract drawings or the contractual sheet (8”) he provided. **★★★★★ — M P, April 2018** > Chris McNicholas is a house building savant. You will not find a more trustworthy, knowledgeable, or easy-going contractor. We hired MP Builders to build our dream house. We are at the halfway point and I cannot praise Chris enough. You will not find a contractor who has more attention to detail than Chris. His planning is meticulous, his subs are top notch, and Chris has a great working relationship with them. Before hiring MP Builders, we spoke with several folks whose homes Chris had build or renovated. They ALL had great things to say about MP. **★★★★★ — juliejward, July 2014** > We hired Chris to replace half a dozen windows including a large 2 story picture window. They did a spectacular job and we couldn't have been happier with him, his company and the excellent quality of the work. He has become our "go to" person and has since worked on smaller jobs for us.
