The bathtub/shower conversion into a full walk-in shower with bench, frameless glass shower doors, ceiling to floor 24 inch diagonally installed tiles added depth & height. Two recessed light fixtures were added for additional lighting. An integrated soap dish/half circle grabbar and an attractive handrail mounted on back wall were added for safety without compromising design. An integrated toilet tissue/half circle grabbar complements the chair-height/elongated toilet. Two floating glass shelves complete the wall space. Light gray cabinetry with chrome hardware, a platinum rain glass rectangular undermount sink with the clean marble look quartz countertop, an oversized mirror flanked by two frosted glass sconces bring a touch of sophistication to the sink area. Rectangular white/marble tiles were used for flooring. Completing the look is the faux painted walls in soft tones of gray & white, highlighted with silver leaf. They are not reliable, communication is subpar and there is no accountability for errors. This company does not adhere to industry standards and has questionable integrity. > > My husband and I recently completed a home renovation that involved a complete remodel of the kitchen and bathrooms. KW Cowles was as our cabinet subcontractor. Over the course of the project we experienced a litany of issues much too long to detail here. These included extremely poor and often inconsistent communication, inaccurate scheduling, and repeated delays. Our original cabinets came several weeks after we were told they would arrive which the owner disputed even when shown an email she sent clearly stating the missed delivery date. The laundry cabinet in the original delivery had been incorrectly measured for by the cabinet company's staff and had to be reordered. This all occurred in Nov. 2016. The cabinet, along with crown molding that was never completed, finally was installed in Feb 2017. The install of which was a nightmare that involved the installer no showing or cancelling multiple times over the course of three weeks. **Comment from KW Cowles Design/ KWC Virtual Interior Design:** > We were very concerned when we received this review and sincerely apologize for the inconveniences and frustrations this client experienced. We did have recurring problems on this project and it is very upsetting when KW Cowles Design Center does not meet the expectations of a client. I had a nice kitchen but it was lacking a pantry. She designed a very functional pantry by removing some cabinets and an unused kitchen desk. The pantry included pull-out drawers and a special pull-out for my breadmaker, room for a garbage disposal and a pull-out for canned goods. Then her master carpenter made some perfectly-matched doors and drawers and pull-outs that provided so much additional space. The stain and grain of the cabinets perfectly matched the existing cabinets and the trimwork (a different color) also matched. A: I have the same question, what brick or brick looking tile is this? **Q: New construction - Kitchen layout** *(in Design Dilemma)* We are having a home custom built. We are in the electrician "phase". Is there something wrong with this layout and where should I place stuff (like flatware, glasses, etc.) I think glasses should be beside the fridge. Maybe pots in drawers under cooktop, cookie sheets under double ovens. Any ideas? Also I wanted to do light gray walls and medium gray cabinets, black island. Alaskan white granite. There is no window and the natural light will have to come from breakfast nook window. Thoughts? The whole process is very overwhelming and stressful! I thought it was supposed to be fun!?! Some side notes on the plan... (Some of which have nothing to do with the kitchen.) The opening to the great room is much larger. The great room was changed so that the back wall of it is in line with the breakfast room. (So it is really not a breakfast room, just an extension of the kitchen.)The front room on the right is open like the dining room, minus the closet. The storage room in the garage was incorporated into the laundry room. We have stairs there as well going to a bonus room over the garage. Closets in master were changed to one large walk-in. Great room has a corner fireplace. No door in breakfast room either. Thanks for any input in advance! A: Monique building or renovating your home is not fun And generates tons of stress.
